About KORPITALO 🇫🇮 NORDIC HOMESTEAD

We are Mirja and Jukka [Guide-Wolf] We moved 25 years ago from southern Finland 900 km to the North. We started our company in Ruka, Kuusamo, Finland. Then later we had alltogether 200 safari sledogs and 50 other animals in our farm. After 19 years and we realized that's enough... We wanted to go back to the basics, bought a small country homestead and we want to live simple. We have not regretted it at all.

Now living by the lake, 250m above sea level, no permanent neigbours. Now we can do all the things, that we had no time to do. Simple living... We heat our house with firewood, cook with a wood burning stove, having a big vegetable garden and greenhouse. Chickens and ducks. Sheeps we had, but gave them away, cause lack of proper hay. We are fishing and he is a hunter. We are not off-grid, but we use as little electricity as we can.
