About Jimmy Bilbrey

My name is Jimmy Bilbrey and I am a singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, born and raised in Cookeville, Tennessee. I grew up listening to many different styles of music, including country, rock, bluegrass, classical, and gospel. I have a B.S. in Music Education from Tennessee Technological University with an emphasis in classical violin. I also played in a bluegrass/country band for twenty years in the Cookeville area with my dad. In 2002, my dad, Ronald Bilbrey, my brother Philip, and I formed a strictly Bluegrass band called, "The Bilbreys", and we continue to play several shows a month around Cookeville. My oldest son, Aaron Bilbrey has been with us now for about 3 years. I've been writing songs since the age of 18 and have had songs recorded nationally and internationally. "Back to her Roots", an original song, was included on a C.S.I. episode in 2008. I've also had songs recorded by Doyle Lawson, the legendary Jack Greene and Carrie Hassler, along with many others.
