The Mechanical Garden

Published 2011-03-30

Part of my art coursework was to design an animation relating to the topic in which I am working with. The animation's purpose is to promote/advertise a non-existent theatrical production (play) named 'The Mechanical Garden. The topic must relate to both Mechanical and Shadows in which I have included both in this piece by creating flowers out of photos of metallic surfaced objects from my house, the background (if you've noticed) features different silhouettes/shadows of cogs and dead trees.

The soundtrack in the background was created simply using a keyboard and a microphone. There are three different layers to the soundtrack which were recorded and edited on the popular program Audacity.

Thanks for viewing this, it is relatively short but I had a deadline to meet and a whole lot more of art coursework to do for my final art exam.

"I like the colour in the background, it suits bombs dropping. It's like a war zone. That would've made it more chilling, how now we've been so destroyed by mankind and it's inventions. Even nature has become mechanic"
