Hello!
I've been hiding this film from view for over a year now and it's been a weird feeling.
I've done a lot of festival things in the meantime but it's not been very enjoyable, and I want to celebrate this pilot(?) I worked so hard on with my friends n family after all this time.
Pimento! was made in 2021 over the course of 9 months and worked on entirely during COVID. The concept for the short was tossed around in late 2019/early 2020 during a series pitch development class but production on the short only started during lockdown at the start of my 4th and final year at DePaul.
This short was made by one animator, 3 feet away from my bed, on a laptop, during an incredibly isolated time--but I can say for damn sure that working on this project kept me alive and motivated for the better part of a year, and I'm incredibly proud of how it turned out.
