(THE STORY)
In the Mushroom Kingdom, the powerful Wishing Stars from the Star Road went missing and began to throw Super Mario's world into chaos.
From the skies, the Starman ♡♪!? (nicknamed Geno) came down into a toy puppet. His mission was to bring back the stars. Mario and his new friend Mallow join with him to set things right in the Mushroom Kingdom.
(THE FANS)
Many fans such as myself wondered when we would finally see Geno again. Little mentions here and there would give us a little glimmer of hope, but alas, things did not quite turn out the way we had wished. It was almost 2 decades of waiting to see him appear in a new game.
Many have wondered what fans of Geno saw in him. In the hope of answering some of this curiosity, this is a slice of his story in Super Mario RPG. He is a very different type of character for the Mario Series and stands out as a canonically powerful ally. It was a shame to just forget him along with Mallow, the cloud prince.
(THE ANIMATION)
Through finishing university and many other commitments, here is the fruit of a 5 year labor. It was a let down seeing companies want to put him away into the past. Here is a send off to the Smash Bros Series addition wish and a look towards the future.
The animation was started in Blender upon its Greasepencil tool alpha release back in 2017. The latest version in Blender's recent release is one powerful tool now days. The animation is a testament to its evolution over the last 5 years.
I would like make some behind the scenes soon to explain how it was utilized to make the animation.
