Inspired by Falling Sand Game and The Powder Toy. The way it simulates is probably closer to Falling Sand Game, it just uses the positions of particles and doesn't track heat or pressure like Powder does.

There is a known issue where the top layer of a liquid tends to pile up to the left of a pool rather than spreading out.
