DTAE || Marine (Part 1)

He had never told Marine this, so when the day came that the research boat was scheduled to head back towards land, and Marine had planned to leave so no-one would come and try to catch her, when Marine leaped into the Mariana Trench, Jupiter merely sat on the railing watching Marine go fathoms and fathoms below the surface, all the way to Challenger Deep, all 36,069 feet to the bottom of the Mariana Trench as the research boat carried him away. Marine only realized this then, and stared through the waters upward towards where the boat was when she had dived into the water. Although she couldn't see to the top through the inky blackness, Marine knew this was where she was meant to be, alone in Challenger Deep, as her eyes started to glow and light her way, she finally felt like she could breathe perfectly, and she finally had perfect balance with gravity lessened. A tail and crown of bubble had even formed around her. For the first time in her life, Marine felt she was truly at home.

Details: Stands with a slouch on land (due to modified bones), has severe asthma on land but not in water (due to modified lungs so that they can also function underwater). Her digestive system was modified so she can live off the saltwater in the Trench, and she still often returns to the surface to see if Jupiter has come back to see her and to check roughly what season it is so she can keep track of the time (he never has.). Her eyes only glow underwater, and the bubbles around her only appear underwater as well.
