"Don't be ridiculous!" Honeypool scoffed playfully and gently bumped her shoulder to Sheepstep's. "Thornstar is a noble cat who makes good decisions. And he made a great decision on making you deputy. She smiled and her heart warmed up when he smiled back at her.
Then, a small group of cats walked over to the two to congratulate Sheepstep. Smiling at him one last time, Honeypool padded off to go hunting by herself.

By herself she didn't.
In the forest, she bumped into Bouncetail and Thornstar. The three decided to go hunting together, and Honeypool quite enjoyed the experience.
When they got back, Honeypool put her squirrel on the pile and watched Thornstar pad over to where Nightshade and Sheepstep were talking. However, immediately as Thornstar approached, Nightshade headed to the nursery.
Honeypool walked up to Sheepstep, their fur brushing. "Hey," she murmured, her voice low. She watched in confusion where Nightshade had just padded off to. "What happened?"
Sheepstep sighed, sending a confused glance to the nursery, he too talking in a low voice. "I'm not sure," he admitted. "We were just talking until your hunting party came back to camp. When Thornstar came over, Nightshade just.. walked away. It's like they had an argument or something earlier."
"That is quite peculiar."
They stared at the nursery in silence for a couple of seconds before Sheepstep shook his head and smiled at Honeypool. "Hey, how about we relax for a bit before the sunhigh patrol comes back? I really do enjoy your company." The comment made Honeypool blush, also smiling back.
"Sure. I'll tell you about the time Dandelionpelt got stuck in a..." The two headed off to a corner to camp to talk.
And that's when all chaos broke out.
