hey guys! i'm in a graphic design class and our first project was to design a book cover!! boy howdy was that fun!!!! so i have the illustration i did in krita on the first slide and then the second slide is the formatting + photo editing in photoshop. the model for the books was material the teacher provided for us.

i chose the book sherwood by meagan spooner! it's a really good robin hood retelling. tugged at my heartstrings. also the cover isn't my favorite so that's why i chose to redo it for my project! also the author actually noticed my instagram post so that was awesome!!

i hope you guys are doing well. two days ago i woke up to an email from my new york times subscription that the president had corona. then the next morning it was that he was hospitalized. at this point i'm expecting to wake up tomorrow morning seeing that he has died. that would be crazy, but very 2020.

also, i've been considering doing art commissions on my instagram! i know most of you probably don't have disposable income to spend on art, but if you know anyone who does, keep an eye out :) i don't have a job rn so i'm looking to get a least a little bit of income. i applied for a job earlier this week but they said they wouldn't get back to me unless they were interested in me so i guess now i might just never hear back :( i understand though. alas. it's hard to have to support yourself. even though i'm just in college and i have a mealplan and a room all provided for about $5000 a semester total, there's still a lot of little expenses that pile up. like, it's $34 to renew my driver's license! what the heck is up with that! there are definitely people out there who need to drive to work but don't have enough money to just drop $34 out of nowhere... doesn't seem fair to charge money for something that is often an essential. alas, just one of the many ways the world is not right.

anyway, enjoy being young! every stage in life has its drawbacks, but they also all have their advantages. even though i'm a lot happier now with a bit more independence, it's also hard to manage everything on my own. and i'm not even managing everything yet! so just enjoy every stage that you're in. if you're young, take the time to play and find lots of things you enjoy doing! and keep doing them! there's so much life ahead of you. <3

have a lovely rest of your weekend, my friends! hope you like my design! :)
