If buying isn't owning, piracy isn't stealing. I'll be sailing the high seas for Outlaws after seeing what they pulled with the Crew.

Thanks a lot for giving exposure to the Stop Killing Games campaign. This is such an important campaign to protect consumer rights, stop Ubisoft’s bullshit and prevent any harm that the Digital Only future might bring.

It's hilarious that Ubisoft thinks "3-day early access" is a pre-order incentive. That's just charging extra for 3 days worth of bonus bugs that won't be patched until after launch.

I like that there's a new Star Wars game coming out, but instead of excitement, the conversation is basically "oh right, Ubisoft."

Star Wars Outlaws' ultimate and gold edition costs the same as 2 months worth of groceries where i live.

Game companies make these live service games, and then get frustrated at the consumer when we don’t buy it because they stop supporting it. These companies are the embodiment of the blameshifting Principal Skinner meme

That Unity tragedy from months ago will continue to be the funniest and most embarrassing self-own jump-on-a-rake in gaming history
  • @TheRogueWolf
It's hilarious hearing Ybarra advocate for tips for development teams, when the company he headed paid its developers so poorly that they couldn't afford to eat at their own company's cafeteria.

Dead Space being canned again is a real tragedy. The Deadspace remake was one of the best made games of 2023. Would have loved to see what Motive had planned for the franchise.

I got excited when he mentioned that some Destiny developers were making a game but it died just as fast when he said battle royale
  • Kudos for shouting out fallout London! Been following this project for a while and the level of ambition is incredible. The team has basically made a brand new fallout game from scratch almost every item is custom. They even redesigned the pip boy and its menu to make them British and lore friendly

Using the Rule of Two to compare Ubisoft and EA is just hilarious. EA sitting behind Ubi saying “Dew it”

Back in 2016 I remember Blood & Wine DLC winning GOTY from some outlets

I guess Ubisoft director was serious when he said people need to get comfortable with not owning their games

lol. Legit had me goin' when you said Ubisoft was including 4 copies of Balatro to give to friends with preorder bonus for Star Wars Outlaws. Was thinking, "Daaaang. That is a WILD partnership for them to have-...oh. Of course."

Fallout London is a great example to how impressive mods can be. If the modders are experienced enough and the numbers are good, then mods can basically be their own games. Similar to something like squad. What started out as a battlefield fan mod (or so I’ve heard) now turned into its own game. Modding truly is a wonder

Paying game devs appropriately should be their employer's responsibility, not the consumer's. If tipping were to become a thing you can be sure that executives at big studios would cut salaries to compensate. Terrible idea.
  • Larian are a class act and I hope they stay that way for a long time. It's nice to see that some people understand how to make a profit without gouging everyone for all they've got and that your rep in the industry is far more important for long term sustainability, but that is also because Larian in its current form is thinking about long-term plans.
