Robert, hopefully you see this. I'm also a Sailor and I'm stationed right outside of Jacksonville FL. You've seen the ship, and now you can see the shore side of the Navy. I'd love to give you a brief tour for a video. Just reply to this comment if you're interested we can go from there brother.

Rob, enjoyed having you on board with us! It was a pleasure hosting you and Austin. Thanks for the great conversations!
  • @akdonlh9924
I love the respect that you give our service members because they deserve it and more

I'm a Navy Vet and this video made my day Rob. I was Stationed at NAS Oceana and did mostly hydraulics repairs and changing tires on those big beautiful F-18's Thanks for the trip down memory lane haha

As a Navy Veteran, Robert, these videos make me so proud of our active duty sailors that are out there living the dream. So fun to watch you get so much enjoyment going out to the boat and spending time with these guys and gals. Watching jets land and launch off these ships will never not amaze me

I’m a Navy Veteran also. Rob I really appreciate you spending time on a carrier. Your trip made their day and mine ! Being in squadron VAW-116 we were responsible for the COD from landing to launch. There was never a shortage of helpers from everyone on the deck , to unload the mail from that plane. Now you need to go from Pollywog to a Shellback ceremony.

Holy crap, that mustve been incredible! My uncle was on carriers for 6 years, and grandpa in Subs for 12. I cant wait to watch this and I can only imagine how it all felt. Oh Rob you better make that hunt happen! That man looks 25 how has he served 30 years 😅
  • @tomgensel4134
Was in the Navy when I wore a younger mans clothes. 2 ships, and only visited a carrier. Glad to serve on much smaller boats and thankful for those who did serve on the great carriers. Go Navy 🇺🇲
  • @mikepetersen1339
I served on USS CORAL SEA CV-43. This video brought back memories. I was stationed in Norfolk as well. Thanks Rob and glad you are not slowing down after your stroke.

Robert! I'm tongue-tied.....YOU DOG! I would die for an opportunity like that. Good for you and your crew. What an experience! Hoooorah to all our service men and women out there doing the job each day!

I went out on a family day with my Uncle he was a pilot of a f18. We sailed out of Norfolk VA on the USS Harry Truman. It was a wild experience the smells on the carrier are like.no other. My Uncle had his own small room he shared with another pilot. I learned alot carriers, 1 thing I found shocking was the amount of lady's who went to sea. They ended up pregnant lol !

I served with CDR Elliot Weston (the Navigator) in three different commands! He's a great guy! Happy memories from Whidbey and Bahrain!
  • @trabyelxab8199
So happy that you and Austin got to experience this! I remember vividly how exciting it was to visit my Dad on the USS Lexington when I was 10 - 12 years old. Go USA and God bless the USA! Jesus Christ loves you!🙏❤️💯

I believe the white shackle is an indicator for the length of chain that has been released off the boat, the chain should be attached to an anchor.
  • @MakingMase
The white link is a swivel to relive pressure on the chain as the anchor rotates, to prevent the chain from snapping.
  • @ruli00
The white link on the chain means it’s 50 feet from the anchor. Links are painted different colors every 25 to indicate distance from anchor. Learned this at Sea School when getting my captain’s license to run charters in the future
  • @Shoots-A-Stick79
I'm glad you got to see the life I lived for over 30 years. I retired back in 2009.
