  • I love this new series of videos ! Because we never know what are the dishes that people really order in restaurants, also restaurants might not include some popular dishes from their country or they change the recipe just because they have to please the tastebud of the country. Like how indian, thaรฏ, vietnamese etc... restaurants might put less spices and flavor to make their cuisine more appealing and less intimidating. I think if people were more open minded, some restaurants would unlock their true potential.

As a Thai person myself, I found that a lot of the dishes here in this video are different or a bit different from the original dishes in Thailand (for example, we NEVER put broccoli in Panang ๐Ÿ˜‚) The color of the curry also seems pale, and the fish cakes in Thailand look more juicy than in the video. Anyway, I am happy to know that our cuisine came across the world and those from far way can also enjoy them, and I am also happy to see that you enjoyed the food here, as well. ๐Ÿ˜ This video makes me really hungry now LOL I really crave เธขเธณเธ›เธฅเธฒเธ”เธธเธเธŸเธน (the catfish spicy salad) so much!

Aa!,! Hello! Iโ€™m Pat from the video :DD So happy to see this and see what the others recommended. Your reaction to the food just made my day 100 times better haha. Thanks Beryl again for this series and I hope you guys can feel encouraged to enjoy more of Thai cuisine ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’— Ps watched it again with mom and she thinks you mightโ€™ve got Geang Som instead of Geang Pa
  • That Isan (Northeastern) sausage looks more like the Northern sausage โ€œsai-uaโ€ rather than the actual Isan one. That characteristic green colour from kaffir leaves, scallion, and cilantro is usually not seen in Isan sausage, which is brownish red. Itโ€™s also more common for Isan sausage to have either or both rice and glass noodle in them. I love both, though.

Okay, this is kind of a strange tangent but it's related! I knew Thai tradition meant using a fork and spoon, so when I tried Thai curry, I used the spoon to eat. Revelation time! I have facial paralysis (from Bell's Palsy, had it 3 times so far, fun!) and I have trouble using a fork, I spill alot amd I can't open my mouth very wide so eating is a challenge. Thai food made me realise that using a spoon to eat is FINE, it doesn't make me a failure as an adult. I also discovered the Korean style spoons which are perfectly sized, love them! So now I eat everything with a Korean spoon and chopsticks. Spaghetti, garden salad, casseroles, meatloaf, everything. I know it seems so silly, but I have struggled for 30 years with eating and being self conscious, I have stained every shirt I have owned. I think because I was 16 when it first happened, it is a childhood trauma. I still won't eat noodles in public though! :)

My sister in law is Thai as well as a trained chef. Since she's come into the family we've been lucky enough to try so many Thai dishes (although none of the ones in the video I don't think). She cooks something new every time, so we're getting to discover a huge palette of this amazing culinary culture.
  • @darkiepadmae
I'm currently eating in a Thai restaurant, and instead of the usual green curry, I ordered catfish salad instead because I remembered your video. It's really lovely. Thank you for the inspiration to try something new ๐Ÿ˜Š
  • @rachelfang891
I was just complaining to a friend that there are cuisines I know I love the flavors of but never eat out for because I don't know how to handle the menus. Love this series and I hope you keep adding to it!
  • @lizsweety3
Can we please do Mexican??? Iโ€™m so tired of ordering tacos and burritos lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ I need help! Or Chinese!!!!!
  • please try persian and turkish foods too, they are so unique and deliouce! btw thanks for your great work.
  • Beryl!! I posted on twitter but I don't think you use it much -- I got a package from you yesterday and it made my freakin' day! Thank you so, so much. I absolutely devoured the red bead crackers and sakura cookie immediately. I can't wait to try the corn fungus especially!! Thank you for all that you do. Watching your videos makes me feel like I'm having a meal with a friend, especially since I work from home and don't get to see people on the day-to-day (except hubby when he comes home from work!). Your food videos are always the first ones I am eager to watch when they pop up in my sub box~ You are amazing and I adore this community! Also, this series is one of my absolute favorites ever. Feels good to see some of my go-to Thai dishes being recommended (panang curry is MVP) ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™Œ
  • Jungle curry is so underratedโ€ฆ ๐Ÿคค Ps. This is such a clever way to do sponsored content. Such a great channel and a beacon of light in a shitty world atm
  • @annaliseRS
Broccoli!!! I like to call them "the mop of the food world." They are AMAZING in stir fry and curries for this very reason -- I'm so glad you got to experience the mop for yourself!
  • 5am here in Isan Nth East Thailand ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ โ™ฅ. I got a little time until my kids get up for school and watch this video.....and feel my heart fill with pride for the nation that adopted me 30 yrs ago. Thank you Beryl for triggering that feeling first thing in the morning, I never really thought how deep my love of this country and people is. This morning this single dad feels like he is one of the luckiest men on the planet. Thanks .....and eat more aharn Thai folks.
  • Would love to see a Caribbean episode! Like Puerto Rican, Cuban, Jamaican
  • @Phily1494
Tom Yum and Tom Kha are almost always on my orders. Both of them are so punchy and it clears my throat and sinuses in an instant. Me and my sister would secretly be happy when falling sick because we could then confidently request some tom yum soup. Also you guys need to try Pad Kaprao. Holy Basil and Minced chicken/meat stir fry. Spicy, and even the holy basil is somewhat spicy or peppery. While i have seen holy basil being used for medicines and some herbal teas, i never thought to use it in a dish. I know this dish is also made with Thai Basil, but its quite different from holy basil.
  • @Lxusware98
You know the food is good when Beryls right eye closes ๐Ÿ˜œ the food looks so good Iโ€™ll definitely try some next time Iโ€™m craving Thai food! Thanks so much for giving us incredible insights and making the dishes, people and culture the stars in every video! โค๏ธ
  • @89ohmeohmy
I recently tried a fish cake on a whim and really loved it. The texture was a delightful suprise. Would love to see an order in Ethiopean food edition!!
  • Great series. The sponsor section of most YouTube videos is almost always pretty dull or a bad fit, this is very well done and sits so well with your content.
  • i love this series, i definitely have a tendency to always reorder the same dishes...ordering in feels like such a luxury that i don't wanna 'waste' money on something i might not like. but everything people ordered for you seems absolutely delicious!
