I have my dad’s 73 F250 and am starting to restore her. It was the first new vehicle he ever bought and a few months later he brought me home from the hospital in it. I learned to drive in it, had my first date in it and now it is mine. Sadly dad has been gone for nearly 13 years. The truck sat in the yard slowly covered by blackberries…. I trailered it to my house and had her running within 2 days. The first trip was to the car wash and the second was to pickup a U-Haul trailer. Trip 3 was a 100 mile round trip with the trailer and a full load to move my family and she didn’t skip a beat! Not bad for not being started for 9 years…
  • 1973 was a time back when trucks were made for real tough labourers, meant to haul supplies to the job site and the refuse to the dump. Nowadays they're family haulers for the most part, most suburban examples have rarely, if ever, seen a serious load put in the bed

I enjoyed the ride! The Dentsides are my favorite Ford truck generation. Dad had a new 73 F100 when I was 9, 302 3 on the tree, later traded for a new 77 F150 Supercab Custom with the Explorer tape stripe and mag-like hubcaps package. That one had the 351M and C6. Dad put glasspacks on it and it sounded great. I'll bet your truck has many admirers.

Used to have a 76 f250 360 4 speed yukon 4.11 locker diff this makes me really want another ford those fe motors have such a good sound
  • 73 was the first year for those 6th gen Ford F-series pickups & were produced up through 79. The 2nd gen Broncos on the other hand which have the same body design weren't produced yet til 78 & like the pickups, they were also produced up through 79.
  • Mine is a '73 F350 Super Camper Special, it's my baby. Yours is gorgeous inside, and sounds badass!

Awesome video. Love the old back roads. Looking forward to doing that next year myself. What motor you running in the ol girl? 360, 390?

How many speeds have this transmission? I can't figure out the number of the speeds of this transmission. This truck is a master piece, the torque is powerful
  • What top speed did you get up to? I have a 1977 f350 with a 400m that hasn't drove in a while ...just wondering cuz it sounded like the motor was wound up pretty good...also nice truck sounds really good 👍
  • which engine is this, and whats the exhaust setup? personally I find the sound to be perfection and want my f250 to sound this way Hoping to get the exhaust details and engine. I'm more than happy to put a mild 390 or 460 in place of my 360, but also don't have to :3
  • Cool is that just a f350 or a super camper special, I just missed out on one a 1973 f350 super camper special for only 8 grand and it was beautiful 79,000 original miles and know I am looking for another one someday, but was just curious if it was a super camper special or not?
