So it looks like there's a chance Esteban Ocon COULD be out of his seat for the next race in Canada. Well, let's talk a bit more about this potential replacement.

I really want to like Ocon, his journey into F1 was incredibly difficult and he worked very hard to get to this point. However, he makes it very difficult sometimes
  • They even had an agreement that whoever qualified further back would protect for the car in front. They'd discussed it before qualifying even happened. Ocon couldn't even make it one lap before ignoring the team's plans. His immaturity after 9 F1 seasons is astounding.

Imagine if the Alonso/Piastri line-up was actually in this boat of a car. That would’ve been awful to watch.

Ocon beefing with a teammate. Traditions
  • @sitasin6545
Jack's slow start last season was because he had a fundamental issue with the car. He got a chassis change and suddenly started outscoring everyone else
  • Ocon's journey to F1 is very inspiring and he is very talented but F1 teams aren't gonna look kindly when he is constantly having run ins with teammates such as Gasly, Checo, Fernando The only time he hasn't had any friction with a teammate was with Daniel in 2020 where Daniel was far ahead of Ocon in terms of performance

If Famin drops Ocon for a race as punishment for breaking team orders, he'll never have a driver discipline problem again, ever, no matter where he goes or how long his career runs for

Hey tommo, Pierre's point in Monaco isn't Alpine's first point. Ocon scored in Miami!

To me, it's weird that Ocon got a penalty but KMag didn't.
  • Alpine trying to justify why let one of the most promising rookies of the last decade slip through their fingers will never cease to be funny, especially now that Oscar has quickly delivered great results the moment he got into a car that was capable of getting them.

I think Jack would do pretty good. Hes got experience and is quite quick.

No one is going to replace Ocon at Canada

I would love to see Jack on track. Completely biased as an Aussie, but I really respect his decision to sit out racing this year. He's promoting himself in the public, he's going all in with Alpine and testing. He seems pretty level headed in interviews and can provide good technical feedback. I would love to see an F1 stint from him!

Ocon was no doubt still upset with Gasly squeezing him towards the wall on the run up the hill. You are right I think many drivers would of gone for that gap. Ocon was ahead mid corner but opening the steering pushing Gasly to the wall was the issue. You could argue had any other driver pulled that move Gasly may of backed off but he was never going to let Ocon take that place. Ocon should of stayed tight and I think he would of taken Gasly and Albon by the time they came out of the tunnel.

I think it’s peacocking from the team. If it was anyone else we’d just be calling it a lap one incident. People aren’t even as mad at KMag for his crash as they are for this.

Doohan got a chassis change mid way through 2023 that's why he was struggling at the start
