Cultural Caravan TV spotlights the impact of the award-winning documentary by Louise Dente, AJASS: Pioneers of the Black is Beautiful Movement which has been recognized internationally. Cinque Brath, of the Elombe Brath Foundation, reflects on the recognition that has been forthcoming as a result of the film. Two arts, Evan Bishop and Katori Walker were inspired to create an impressive mural on 125 St in Harlem in celebration of the work. On September 23, 2023, 751 Kiely Street in the Bronx will be renamed AJASS Way, in recognition of the founding of AJASS in 1956 in the Brathwaite home. Join us for this inspiring story.
