  • Larry David not being able to play George Costanza, a character based on him, is the most George Costanza thing ever

Jason Alexander was the only one of the 4 to not win an Emmy.  It's a tragedy.  If Jerry got one, Jason DEFINITELY deserved one.

The best part of this is how much funnier Jason’s performance is when directly compared to Larry’s George. You realize how insanely dialed his performance is.

The crazy thing is that if you don't know better, it seems like Jason Alexander is playing himself until you see that in real life he really is quite removed from the character he plays. Great acting!

I love how Jason Alexander can just talk normal and then go full George Costanza in the next sentence.
  • Jason Alexander plays GC like a professional guitar player plays his instrument. It really comes out in this clip how talented he is

I don't think I've ever properly appreciated how insanely good Jason Alexander is at acting it really is the flip of a switch
  • Jason Alexander is somehow even funnier doing George's lines off-stage.

This just shows how brilliant Jason Alexander was at playing George.  There are so many little details that make the character funny you don't realize it till someone else plays it and misses those details. The fact he never won an Emmy for this performance is just criminal.

Jason Alexander had the toughest job on Seinfeld, the show just wouldn't work without him.

I never understood why Michael won three Emmys and Jason won none. There's no doubting Michael's intensity and his physical comedy abilities, but Jason's George is a character so rich and layered, way more nuanced than Kramer, who is full-blown kook. George is a man desperately clinging to life despite diminishing returns. What makes George a deeper character and one that has stood the test of time in the public's psyche is that he is more like us, full of neuroses, anxieties and insecurities. Kramer is pure theatrical construction, you start with a man and add broad brush strokes of physicality and self-belief. George is a man whose layers are stripped off, and in the process he becomes just redeemable enough for us to have some affection for him.

This video shows just how amazing an actor Jason Alexander really is. And how difficult good acting is in general.

Jason Alexander's DELIVERY is what MADE this character for me. Alexander said in an interview that people who tell him that George is relatable likely have issues, but... The relatable part of George, for a lot of people, is his frustration. We share in this feeling at times in our lives, and it is tangible in his eruptions of speech.

I love how Jerry cracks up every time Jason does George off-camera. 😂

I love George Costanza. Without him, the whole show would be pointless.
  • @GallantSector
Jerry couldn’t contain his laughter with Jason doing George again. That made me smile the entire video

Jason giving Larry readings is the most meta thing ever in the Seinfeldverse.

He can't even impersonate a character that's based on himself. Typical Larry David
