Never heard of Pariah shield before thx. Very nice niche mechanic in the 5e context. Already brainstorm a tiny kobold Phalanx the party can bowling into and play with positions and shove
  • I remember when the Pearl of Power was a one use consumable. 5e really empowered an already useful item to greater heights.

A series of shorts listing consumables, legendaries, and other magical items you find noteworthy would be an amazing mini-series.
  • I would think that the Watchful helm would be a helm covered by living, blinking, "watchful" eyes, that would turn and look at things going on around them. it would probably be pretty creepy just to be around, always looking over peoples shoulders and getting interested in things that may not be polite to acknowledge
  • Would love to see the short videos on the ultimate magic items per class
  • Never had the chance to try Prayer Beads or the Flail, I'll have to ask about those next time I play a paladin!
  • As series of shorts isnโ€™t a bad idea, I am quite partial to a series of Top 5 Legendary Items/Artifacts for each class. Of course it is ultimately up to you.

Thanks for this! My dm needs me to pick a rare item to maybe get later on and this really helped

I've played a Dex Paladin. He was quite strong - not entirely because of being Dex focused though. 19 AC with chain mail, a shield, and the Marine fighting style. I could push it higher, but that usually worked for me. It helped to be dextrous for saving throws, but the main benefit is the high AC in numerous terrain. If you are playing a landlocked campaign without much variance, I don't think focusing dex on a paladin is necessarily that great.

I didn't play a DEXadin, but the one time I played a Paladin he picked up a Longbow from the first fight against bandits and I made more attack rolls with that Longbow using my +1 DEX instead of my sword. And we weren't running some stealth/never let them get near you game either. Fights were fair and our Sorcerer was also in melee most fights by choice (he also had incredible stats rolled but still). From a range my 6 Vengance Paladin/2 Grave Cleric was a bigger boon to the team with 2 nonmagical arrows a turn than I ever was trying to Smite with my +7 to hit Longsword attacks. And the 1 time our backline was jumped, they tried to jump a Paladin.
  • I have a dex based Paladin that Iโ€™m playing in a seafaring campaign. He has studded leather a magic buckler and a cloak of displacement and so heโ€™s basically untouchable by attack rolls.

I'm playing a Dex paladin right now in Out of the Abyss. Potential Spoilers for OotA. Oath of the Watchers, Shadar-Kai, Alert Feat (same effect you mentioned with the Watchful Helm) - My party goes first - No ambushes - We got Dawnbringer, she's been an insane asset down there - +2 Studded Drow Armor - Blessing of the Raven Queen is an insane tanking ability. In this specific campaign, stealth and a high dex has let us avoid a lot of encounters early on a still proves useful. I love paladin's and its been a nice change of pace.
  • I think the Watchful Helm has a bunch of eyes that are constantly looking around and never blink.
  • I think you should one good sized video for each legendary item best suited to each class instead of a dozen micro videos.
  • @user-gw9ff5un6c
Watchful helm has a pair of gems set in the helm, the gems are cat's eye gems
  • I don't think Dexterity is an issue for the Javelin of Lightning, can't you use Strength for thrown attack rolls?
  • Great stuff friend ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ First to comment, it would be great to hear about legendary
