I’ve always ignored basic sprinklers in every play through. Saw a stardew YouTuber using them and decided to try them out on my most recent play through. Was literally the smoothest play through I’ve had so far, when you’re not spending that early energy watering all your crops every day you can do so much stuff and progress so much further than if you used that energy for crops. Finished the community center on winter 2 year 1 which is by the fastest I’ve done cause I’m lazy and usually end up finishing in year 2 w the cabbage, but since I had so much extra time checking the traveling cart was nbd.

As a casual player, my issues with the basic sprinklers would evaporate if there were a way to upgrade sprinklers up the next tier with slight resource inefficiency. The two reasons I wait until quality sprinklers don't include not liking the pattern, it's that I actually like watering some amount of crops, and that I don't like spending resources to make a bunch of basic sprinklers that will just sit in a chest somewhere forever once I've gotten quality sprinklers. I have enough problems with getting metals given my difficulties with the mines and my hatred of buying ore.
