local man learns what a simulation game is and is severely confused after years of COD brainrot

I never really got into Arma 2 but have fond memories of roleplaying in Arma 3, little squeaker me really enjoyed playing things like Altis life, pissing around with friends. I remember joining a rebel army and I did something wrong so there was this whole storyline where i was executed. Was a real sombre affair lmao.

Some of the most fun I had in Reforger was driving a transport truck filled with troops to different objectives and we were steam rolling objectives until we met the enemy side. Ranked up so fast I was flying my friends in and out of objectives in an Mi8 or running a BTR crew to harass the enemies at a supply depot.

Have you ever played any of the operation Flashpoint games? Closest thing i can recall being kind of similar to this series

Love the video. I think the real issue is that developers just didnt think of the game being popular on consule / controller. Arma has always been sort of a game that required PC and they most likely expected the vast majority of players to be from PC, leaving yall to the wayside. Unfortunate really since they should have aimed for the COD / Squad playerbase.

Arma did the best it could for controller controls and even handicapped PC players for the sake of console controls one example being the radio UI and how it got changed to be bigger and go against their own words of "wanting a game with less ui so you can feel immersed", also if you had checked the Dpad actually has its own features and actions bound to it, you just had to invest the time to click/hold them. Also Reforger isnt a tactical milsim for most but a more realistic battlefield game. If you want to play realistically then you can and i love playing Arma because its a milsim. HOWEVER, most of my time playing has been spent pushing points and coming back in less than a 1 minute of dying. Reforger is not a complex game, maybe more complex than call of duty but its extremely simple if youre playing as infantry. Go to an objective, kill the enemy and try not to die, You die you come back, repeat. I've once plyed reforger with a guy who actually had down syndrome and he was able to play the game just fine, with some "minor" drawbacks. Also reforger isnt about winning, its about fighting and most people i play with seem to agree. Some matches one team allows the other team to capture the main objective so that the match doesnt end 10 minutes after starting. If you had played any Milsim or game that has "downtime" before gun fights then you'd quickly find out (which you did) that the magic of such games is the people you play with and before you all get yourself killed. You also dont need tactics in reforger, you just need manpower. Grab a radio and keep spawning or make a Command truck and keep spawning. 04:30 Also you were shitting on people playing the game "way too seriously"?? I dont even know what that is supposed to mean. Arma reforger was advertised as a milsim even shown in the leaked marketting documents. And you seem to agree yet for some reason you just shit on people who do their job in running supplies and communicating and having a good time rather than running off for the sake of getting some kills and winning in 10 minutes. My biggest complain with Reforger is having to play with console players, because half of them are like you not willing to cooperate, shitting on others for playing "too serious" and handicapping pc player's with view distance and the devs having to focus on optimization for console. however they need to money for arma 4 so i respect bohemias decision. You had another point of saying that you'd be extremely bored playing reforger alone, and if youre brainrotted by COD then yeah sure. But you can run supplies, be a medic, fly people, drive people, AMBUSH PEOPLE, and just talk to people. This is a well made video but with horrible points who seem to come from someone who has never played Arma and doesnt have the time to actually play the game. Arma is and always will be a milsim and what milsims consist of is talking to your friends and randoms you meet, and then dying in battle and reforger does a great fuckin job at that no matter how much i hate on this game after 800 hours.

what do you mea its not meant for controller, they fucked up the controls for keyboard and mouse with the simplified controls for controller.
