Lower the cooldown timers of your bridge officer abilities is a very good way to improve the performance of any build. There are multiple ways to achieve this, so in this video I talk about the three most commonly used methods to lower BOff cooldowns in Star Trek Online.

I've become so spoiled from running boimler effect as my primary cooldown method I actually needed a refresher for getting my alts up to speed. Thanks

I somehow kept missing that was how minimal ability cool-down works. Now I know. Great stuff!

These breakdown vids are great. Thank you for making them. Could you do a vid breaking down torpedoes? Ex: best quantum, best photon, best plasma etc...

For most of my builds, I'll use photonic Officer 1 and Aux to structural integrity with the starship trait from the Buran dreadnought. Though I am gradually adding in boimler effect to most of my main toons.

Your timing is impeccable. I've been playing since the game went live (very casual player) and only started looking into shortening cooldowns a couple weeks ago. I'm specifically trying to shorten FAW and TorpSpread. I bought Boimler on the market and the borg doffs I need (34 and 39) are at least 100mil each, so I'm going to have to wait on those.
  • Mudd's Awesome Mix Choice Vol. 1 is a reference to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Peter's Mix Tape's name is "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" in the first movie. So someone really liked the movie and named the bundle like this.

Boilmer + Ruin is also a good option for csv builds. If that's not enough I typically toss in Chronocapacitor.

Another good way to lower boff cooldowns is Strategist spec with Attrition Warfare 2 and Threatening Stance active. Granted, Threatening Stance is a very bad idea on escorts(too squishy to be worth it), but if you have a ship with a high hull modifier, then Threatening Stance can be a good thing to use. Do remember that Attrition Warfare requires Threatening Stance to be active, otherwise it will increase shield and hull regen(not a bad thing, but it does not lower cooldowns like with TS active). Strategist can mesh really well with MW ships and spec, as MW grants plenty of boons if you use healing abilities on either yourself or allies, which is a requirement for the activation of AW. The downside is, you need a healing ability to get the lowered cooldowns, and seeing that none of the ships you demonstrated had any heal means that it would not be too popular with people who forego healing abilities for all-out offense(which is not a problem for myself).

Oh! I forgot to mention The Temporal Phase Overcharged Warp Core/Singularity Core. -50% cooldown red and +15 aux power for 30 sec. Works fantastic with older sets. If you can swing the 4 piece it adds another 30s to the timer. Oh and the core a quest reward.

Half Bat also works with 2 Technician Coffs, and you can use a higher level of Aux to Bat Bridge officer , like a single copy of Aux to Bat 3 .

Good lookin out, I didn't know about 10 of 10.
  • @david05111
I run half bat w/boimler. No PO. But the only reason I really do that is because I run Cold Hearted

I mostly use the excellent Borg doffs along with boimler from lobi store and I never have any issues my world razer juggernaut has temp and command specialists along with the new vovin console for my universal console cool down. I keep my bridge officers for offensive use or defensive use but I don't use any for cool downs such as photonic officer. I always find there are better abilities to put in those places. Aux to batt messes up the fleet power network array as well as it scales from aux power and that is the best console for weapon haste that I know.
  • @Geth7777
PO1 with Boimler is my goto, maybe use the 32nd Century Phasers
  • On Xbox I set time for photonics to go off 10 -20 sec after combat, work better then hitting when ever.,, thank you
  • @OFT49
Me still playing the "Antiproton meta" for so many years now be like ...what are you talking about :))
  • Obligatory remark about the Prolonged Engagement 2-piece set providing a small (7.5%) static reduction and being able to be slotted on a new character almost immediately, making it a useful stopgap for when you don't yet have the resources/access to get the better options.
