Offshore Florida Wreck Fishing for Amberjack and more! St. George Island, Carrabelle, Apalachicola

Published 2024-06-25
For the second day of our offshore trip, we gather some live baits in the morning and head out to go fishing over a wreck. The wreck has a resident population of some big amberjack, sharks, and a variety of snapper and grouper. We get a couple of big invasive lionfish on the underwater camera as well. For most of the trip we end up losing big battles with some huge fish, but score a couple of victories along the way. The shipwreck provides the structure to draw in all sorts of fish, but it also provides them with something to break our lines - and these fish know the deal. Next time we will anchor a little further off the structure to give us more of a fighting chance!
