The current Ultium bottleneck is the batteries and their final assembly. For the new Bolt, GM should use outsourced LFP batteries. They are circumventing the bottleneck...

That's great news about the Bolt EUV. If they add in AWD, it will be the most popular car!

1.2 million miles, 14 motors, 3 full batteries. Do we consider this the same car anymore?

46:28 - Keep in mind that the Bolt is the definition of a "Loss Leader" in the EV space. Even in 2017 when the Bolt came out, the teardown groups estimated that the $37,000.00 (USD) MSRP, GM was losing something like $7,000.00 on each base model Bolt that was sold (Source : Wikipedia). So yea, they're losing their a$$es on this vehicle, this is all about EV market share for GM.
My guess is : The "Ultium Bolt" is a Equinox / Blazer EV powertrain reworked to fit into something like looks like a Bolt EUV. -
The CT conversation is interesting. I agree this a money grab for now which makes sense since production is so slow. Also I think BYD is going to really kick but in Mexico and South America. Pretty sad for US companies. I do not think the new Bolt will go up that much in price. $2k is my guess. No AWD IMO.

Someone needs to cheer up the UK presenters. They always seem to be negative, regardless of the topic. Maybe it's the lack of sun. 🙂

I'll be taking a break from this podcast. Hazel is way too distracting to listen to. I'm sure she's a wonderful journalist. But, maybe not cut out for live broadcast.

GM is failing at EVs. They should not stop the current Bolt, because what EV do they have in mass now? None. I don't believe the new Ultium Bolt will be here in 2025. Where is the Equinox? Where is the Silverado EV? Look for the Ultium Bolt in 2026. I am a Bolt EUV owner and it is a great car for trips less than 350 miles, which most people do.
