"especially the very first one where it broke through the golden gate bridge 😃" lmaooo
  • Anyone remember Sym-bionic Titan? I loved how that show was a Kaiju of the week, but that wasn't the show's main focus.

The biggest threat to kaiju? The square-cubed law.

The idea of a kaiju fight wakes up that ancient part of every human's mind that's quietly thinking, "We could totally take down that mammoth with the right plan."
  • @MegaKnight2012
Kaiju keep alive the ancient traditions of oversized monster threatening humans or being our protectors, either as manifestations of nature's raw power, or caused by our own meddling with monsters
  • Lost Planet series of games, famously lets the giant monsters take center stage. Also, if anyone is into this genre, the book Kaiju Preservation Society by John Scalzi is just huge amounts of fun.

The thing I desire most in life is a video game about spaceborne husbandry.
  • @TheWarmachine375
Pacific Rim was pure unadulterated awesomeness with Jaeger giant robots and Kaiju duking it out.

6:38 The Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, and the Fukushima nuclear reactor meltdown happened in *2011. Other than that minor glitch, this is a great video.

You should watch the Kaiju No. 8 anime. It's a great use of the monsters, and how the military would adapt to fight them with advanced technology if they became a regular occurrence. Also, great character stuff, and a really interesting twist on the whole genre.

Night of the Leepus is so charming to see. What’s fun about the movie is they change size depending on the environment depending or door size or open plain.
  • I love Kaiju media, especially with dinosaurs and King Kong. Hell, I'm even writing my own remake of Kong named Legend of Kong;King of Skull Island. There's a lot more worldbuilding and showing the ecology of Skull Island, along with the history of Skull Island and its people's. Especially with the connection between the Kongs and the native people called the Residers. The women given to Kongs aren't sacrifices but caretakers to help heal Kongs spiritually and physically.
  • Just that simple, they are extremely cool! Fun fact: Pokemon, Power Rangers, and a large amount of American Superhero and Wrestling media was heavily inspired by Ultraman which was, in turn, inspired by Godzilla. So yeah, the kaiju genre is the Blues of Film.

Kaiju Are Extremely Cool- And there's no explanation necessary, the statement speaks for itself
  • @ctw30002000
I would really like to see a Kaiju depiction where the military's capabilities are not subject to and suppressed by the needs of the plot.

Godzilla, one the most versatile actors in movies.
