I have system on a house that I just recently moved into that has shade on different parts throughout the day. It has 2 inverters, but also something called a power optimizer at each panel, which I think may be the best of both worlds between an inverter and micro-inverter. They add a bit to the cost, but if you want to squeeze every watt, and circumvent shading issues, they seem like a good choice.

I’ve already signed up with Tesla. I’ve had a few companies give me their presentation. Telling me about why they are better than Tesla. At the end of the day. Tesla seemed like it was the most affordable. Most of the solar companies buy the power wall from Tesla. Then they sell it to their customers for a higher price. This is the best video I’ve seen breaking down Solar cost and how to pick. Great job. I wish I would have seen this last year.

Tesla did a great job installing my solar system. The problem is waiting for PTO from California PG&E, over six months after tesla completed their installation, still waiting and my PG&E billings have been higher since the solar system installed.

@Scott — Any considering solar/ESS, particularly Tesla should watch this video! Is inverter on your PW2+ 7.6 kW? I see you have 4 panel arrays. How did Tesla “breakup” (apportion) MPPTs among your 24 panels?

I just had my roof replaced earlier this year but didnt pull permits. Do you think the inspector would notice and give me a hard time when they come out for the solar panels?

Question about the roof under the panels. When should the roof be replaced before installing the panels. How does roof repair/ replacement work after panels are installed?

I almost sign on with another solar company and you are correct 40% more costly, which I think the price of having good customer service over tesla. I backed out in the end and looking for more research on Tesla solar. will def use your ref code if i go with tsla. most useful info I seen so far. Q1: for you regarding panel performance. Does the software tell you whether one panel is going bad? I have not seen any video or information on this. I think this is the advantage of microinverters v sting inverter. Q2: How is tesla service post installation, if you've had to call them for any issues?

How often does your power go out? Ours only during hurricane few years ago for max 4 days.

The current t400h performance warranty is 98% after 1 year and then not to exceed 0.54% / year for the remaining 24 years which puts it a fraction above 85% after 25 years.
