Does every new car come with an owners manual? Yes. Does anyone read it? Not really LOL. Every time we get a new car, we always want to know what are they hiding? What are the hidden features buried deep in that owners manual, or even NOT in the owners manual! Dealerships will ALWAYS leave out some features that your car comes with, so hopefully a couple of the ones that we have learned since Mac got his CX-50 so far can help you guys out! These are the Hidden Features, that apply to probably most New Mazdas!

On the power windows, sometimes they lose the ability to fully open or close automatically when giving the button an extra little press past the "click". If your windows no longer respond to the "all the way up" or "all the way down" feature you can do this to reprogram them. Press the down button at the driver's door, holding the switch down for an additional 5 seconds once it's all the way down. Then pull the button up, holding it for an additional 5 seconds once it comes all the way up. Give the button the little extra press down and it should be good to go! Works for every Mazda I've tried it on all the way back to 2007. I blew a salesperson's mind about a month ago by doing this. They had been working on this 2016 CX-9 trying to fix this issue. They replaced all 4 motors and all of the window switches on the car with no luck. Over $1500 in parts from the dealer. Knowledge is power!!

I just realized you left out the feature where you can program your seat, mirrors, & heads up display settings into your key fob by pressing set on the memory seat and press unlock on the remote. Every time you open your door all your settings adjust for you depending on which programmed key fob you're holding.
  • Why is it every time I try to look up something in an owners manual it’s never listed in the index? That’s why YouTube videos like this are indispensable. Thanks guys.
  • as a mazda sales person this actually really helpful ! great job
  • I have read my owners manual especially when I needed to pair my garage door opener too the button in our GMC . But your mostly right with most people not looking at the owners manual . enjoyed your video .

Usually videos like this suck, but you two tucked in some real stuff here.
  • I bought my Mazda 3 carbon edition hatch here in Thailand, picked it up yesterday ! Owners manual all in Thai. uh oh. If you buy a car here they put flowers on the dashboard and give you a small buddha figurine for the dashboard. 🙂
  • My wife and I share a 2021 CX-9. One of the top comments was regarding syncing your memory settings with the key fobs. This was the biggest tip for me; it’s going to be so convenient not having to adjust mirrors or push the memory setting buttons every time.
  • Bro I’ve lost your channel and found it 2 years later amazing keep up the good work

nah, the best use of adaptive cruise control is in traffic. I found that the most stressful part of traffic is constantly pressing the break then the gas, then the break and so on. Setup adaptive cruise and let the car do all the stop and go. So much less stress. Keep your foot ready to strike but enjoy the ride.

About the trick of letting the infotainment on while turn off the vehicle. It also works if you put the car in Neutral before cutting the engine off.
  • This is a safety feature… so if you have your parking brake engaged, the electronic parking brake will NOT automatically disengage unless you put your seatbelts on. You will think it’s broken but you are just not buckled up.
  • @Ferrous_Bueller
You can turn off or on the radar cruise control without going into the settings. Just long press the cruise control button on the steering wheel to switch between the two.

great video robbie, havent watched it yet, but i know its gonna be a banger

the car windows going down feuture was already a thing on my mazda 6 MPS from 2007. with that remote you could pull the windows up by holding the lock button, the same way you would do with the unlock button to get them down.

Thanks for posting this. I hated my mirror going down when backing up.
  • @calesutton1382
Whoa! Had no idea about the key fob window thing, and keeping the infotainment on when turning off the engine! Thanks for the tips!
  • For most new vehicles you don't have to fully disable the adaptive cruise control in the infotainment. Let me blow your mind. When you press the cruise control button to turn it on. Press and hold it and it will automatically switch to regular speed hold instead of adaptive. To switch back to adaptive, just turn cruise control off and turn it back on again. :) I would love to see your reactions to this!

I work at Mazda. I was never really a Mazda guy growing up but these new CX-50's are pretty sick.

Other useful features** -Remote Start: Change how long the vehicle stays running before shutting off automatically. (10-30min) -Turn off auto folding mirrors: Side mirrors will remain out/open, even after exiting the vehicle. (Can still fold mirrors manually via mirror buttons) *I highly recommend turning auto folding mirrors off during the winter season. -Hidden VIN: Not really a feature - The VIN is hidden underneath the passenger floor mat, rather than displayed in the windsheild like most vehicles. -Taco Holder: There is a flip-down taco holder located above the rear-view mirror, next to the overhead lights. 🌮
