For some unexplainable reason this song lifts my spirit, touches my soul and creates emotions in me on a level no Christian hymns from my childhood ever did. It’s like it transcends division of race/religion and what some of us have been taught. This song give me hope we all will unite, and I feel like everyone are my sisters and brothers, one human family on a deeper heart level.. Keep breaking down those walls Nakho Bear. I remember stumbling across this video while studying my heritage. It was a dark time in my life. I had lost everything. I was essentially homeless. I believed in nothing. This song and Nahko's music in general gave me my fire back. Now I am deeply spiritual and regained all I had lost. Thank you, Nahko Bear. Keep spreading that medicine.

Almost 10 years ago this version of Great Spirit first hit me right in the heart and it's now more poigniant than ever before in these times of mistrust. I swear this song opens up a channel in me every time I hear it and every emotion I have ever felt rushes to the surface. I feel that connection and that power that comes from something far greater than us, I feel that sorrow and pain for the past and what coud have been had we chosen a different path, but I also feel incredible unity, hope and love for the future if we stay true to the message and embrace all life, not just our own.
