Dynamic dismemberment mod worked on by 'kboy' is still very much WIP and is NOT publicly available at the moment. It has lots of on screen bugs that happen quite often and current build only works on specific enemy types. Once the system is ironed out and ready to go - it will be publicly uploaded on Nexus by it's creator. Later plans are to port it to Survivor aswel.

Characters models are available on "Jedi: Survivor" and "Jedi: Fallen Order" Nexus modding website.

Lore accurate Lightsabers

This makes it seem like you're actually using a lightsaber instead of a glowing baseball bat.

Something Disney appears to have forgotten: light sabers are lethal weapons that burn, melt and split things.
  • @OnceNate
Bro.. after seeing this, the reality of how horrifying it would be getting diced up from a saber is really setting in…

I didn't know the mod scene for these games was so strong. Super sick work
  • @Tajealos
I love how the simple addition of dividing an npc into two or more physics objects upon death instantly turns this from a fun action game to a horror movie
  • @SPQSpartacus
Lately, it seems, the lore says light sabres give you a nasty burn that heals perfectly in a couple of days.
  • This really puts into perspective how much of a boss fight a Jedi or Sith is

I still remember how I was amazed at how powerful lightsabers were when I first saw the prequel. Seeing how lightsabers literally cut a person in half and went through a reinforced door like hot knife through butter is part of what make lightsaber such an iconic weapon in the cinematic universe. And now, lightsabers are just a bunch of glorified glowsticks that make cool swooshing sound and visual effect is terribly disappointing. People are recovering from being impaled by lightsaber left right and center like "don't worry mate, it's just a flesh wound"

I don't think I had ever fully processed how terrifying a Jedi would be. It actually makes their super hippy code make sense, to temper what they're capable of doing
  • @NeonMay
This is brilliant. It shows the magnitude of terror you'd face having someone with a lightsaber coming at you.
  • @mrsunshine2204
This is what everyone wants, a realistic game, I love it!
  • This really shows how terrifying it would be to fight a Jedi/sith A space wizard with telekinesis and an unstoppable sword

This really puts into perspective of how skilled Jedi must be to not cut their own limbs off every time they use a Lightsaber.

I’m pretty sure lightsabers would slice through an arm or leg very quickly, but something that is much larger with more mass and a larger cutting width and cross sectional area will take longer to cut through. There is more mass to heat up, so despite the insane temperature difference of a lightsaber, it might take < 1s to cut through the a torso, but maybe 2s to cut through the giant creature’s arm. You would have to maintain lightsaber contact and push it through the flesh. At first the lightsaber would travel quickly through flesh, but the velocity of the blade would slow down as you are slicing a big creature’s limb. I say this not only because of heat transfer science, but because in the Phantom Menace, when Qui Gon was trying to cut through the blast doors and it took some time. Because the metal was so thick (big cutting width and cross sectional area), had a lot of mass (high density and big volume) and the material properties of the metal appear to have a high heat capacity making it capable of absorbing more heat, therefore taking longer to cut through. Heat transfer is a function of time. The time depends on the cross sectional area, thickness, and thermal conductive properties (density and heat capacity) and temperature difference.

It shows you how far the Star Wars brand has fallen under Disney when "What if lightsabers weren't just glowing baseball bats?" is considered a radical new concept.
  • @lilchernovevo
Knowing the one shot capability makes grevious and mauls fighting style even more horrifying
  • This really reminds you about how brutal lightsabers would actually be in reality without guidelines and PG ratings.

the fact modders so easily added collision to lightsabers and the devs couldn't do it is so strange, it improves immersion so much
