I cant believe its been done with Lead Acid type battery!!!!!! Lithium ion battery is the go for these type of project min 20 years life time after that another 10-20 years with 80% capacity

Hi, I have the same setup but with kaco ac coupled inverters and agm 600a/h battery bank. I also use it to heat my hot water via a standard 500litre hot water cylinder. with two elements which can be separately prioritized. You probably wouldn't need the tubed water heater. Unfortunately, selelctronics hasn't come out yet with a smart way to divert excess power for water heating. I still have to set parameters via SOC, time or battery voltage which is too rigid. The "percent power" indicator would be ideal for the system to determine what is available to divert at any given time. But otherwise great stuff.

Maybe I missed it but I assume the set up cost must be huge $30,000+ .You would have to have a very serious need for off grid power.

What is the switching time of selectronic from grid to backup mode. SMA sunny island take 5s to do that. They cannot be used as a UPS.
