Two immigrant Finnish brothers mined gold. The oldest brother only spoke Fin and knew where gold was hidden. Two robbers broke in, tied up the oldest brother, and threatened to kill him if he did not reveal where the gold was. The robbers only spoke English. The youngest brother interpreted. The oldest brother relented"The gold was under the floor boards in the NW corner of the cabin" in Fin. The youngest brother stated, "Even under threat of death my brother will not reveal where the gold is.

If you bury them, toss a bunch of copper wire pieces and brass 22 ammo casings around the property… Make them work for it.

Sometimes I sit back trying to figure out the big picture where the monetary system is headed. The clues are all around as to the likely outcome yet nothing is certain. Seems we all need multiple plans along the way. Thanks Paul for the years of videos which cause is all to do our own critical thinking.
  • I had a flooded ground safe once. The water table in the winter apparently went right up to it. ( I buried it in the summer ) and in the winter I was attempting to bury a second one next to it. I started to get mud then I literally hit an underground river. Water was just gushing out the side. I recovered everything and it was ok just a little toned. But a pain to dry it all out. Keep water tables in mind when doing this.

When moving cross country, if I had moved anything of value, I got an uPack trailer dropped off at the house. Hired safe movers to load the 1000lb safe in the rear of the trailer, maybe put stuff in after they left and secured them. Hired house movers to load the trailer, the safes were now behind 26 feet of household goods. I then secured the trailer with my own lock. Trailer was moved cross country via truck and rail. Upon delivery at the house, another group was hired to empty the trailer. Safes were accessible for a bit and then I hired safe movers to unload and place them. Worked great.
  • Best leveraged play on gold is undervalued jewelry ;-) E.g. a nice 18k chain selling for melt prices but can fetch the gold spot plus most of the jewelers markup on the open market. That's a tactic I commonly use.

Top information. Wise words of a nomadic tribe: Posession is a burden. 😄
  • I'd like to learn more about metal lending but I think that's reserved for the super-rich.
  • Thanks Paul. Must be an awful lot of hours put into all your videos. Glad that your video did not highlight any major mistakes in my metals, Surprised you did not warn of the perils of taking metals on boats as this accounts for many tragic losses. Very best wishes to you.
  • Thank you it’s a lonely investment choice, PMs, and this advice is indispensable. Found the explanation of the futures market fascinating
  • For OneGold - any plans to cover the Bullion card, especially their fractional purchase option?

Hey Paul, is the OneGold link in the description an affiliate link?

Midnight gardening is my preferred choice

Speaking of midnight gardening, a video about Binion/Vegas would be interesting. These 2 guys were literally using a huge excavator at some lot at like 3am. Cop just happened to be passing by. Binion's death was also suspicious/investigated. Mayor of Vegas was involved in the case. Stripper girlfriend. All kinds of drama. But it all relates to the topic of the video -- metals storage/security.

I’d be interested in a video about metals lending.

You forgot to mention companies like Wheaton and Franco Nevada. Also, swiss ZKB has metals etfs using their own vault. Its one of the top 5 safest banks in the world. Frank Giustra spoked about them.
  • Checked out the site. Way way lower price to buy there then the high premiums I’m seeing on physical delivery.

I moved it last year. Four large aluminum framed suitcases. Mom and I caravanned 600 miles to the new home. I did have movers move my safe. Different crews on the move out and move in. The move in guys were total idiots amd broke things but the safe made it. The new home has barred windows and doors in a sleepy end of town with mostly older folks that are mostly homebodies. I do not feel to good about leaving home for too long. But its the price I pay holding onto my pm’s. I wonder if pslv and phys are good options for my ira’s

I had the opposite view on mining stocks up until this year. The global energy issue, countries banning certain exports, and unrest in a few mining jurisdictions has changed my mind about them. I think nationalization of many strategic metals is a lot higher now. Unfortunately Im in the red on mining stocks right now, but I plan to exit them as they recover.
