The r8 actually was a bit of a departure for the company as its built off an r8 spider rather than the coupe. Think its was so they could fit the roof scoop easier

Mike you're so quick off the mark with your videos! Great video too, as always!

The GT2 will be a lot of fun to those of us, myself included, who love to try and dial out the bad tendencies with setups and MOTEC…looking forward to hours of testing and getting into a modern 1970’s race car….

N24 will be extremely fun in ACC with GT3, GT2, GT4, GTC, and TCX. Personally a big fan of the new GT2. All that power without as much aero just makes for some brilliant driving and racing. Of course GT3 will always be king in ACC, but I think GT2 has a higher shot than GT4 at retaining population. The thing about GT4s I feel is that they are easier to drive than GT3s while also being slower so a lot of fun is lost for most people. The racing is great, but the driving isn't as fun. But GT2s are more powerful and more difficult to drive so there's a lot of fun to be gained. These GT2s have around the same top speed at conventional tracks using set gear ratios as GTEs do at Le Mans in their low downforce kits. It's pretty crazy. Even though entries is down in GT2 European, I does seem GT2 is gaining some OEM interest, especially from manufacturers wanting to get into GT racing. Brabham joined although they didn't run this past year and aren't included in the pack unfortunately. Had two manufacturers join this past season with Mercedes and Maserati of course. I think what's really hurting GT2s is that it's seen as a gentlemen's club right now, and because of that along with general pace being slower there's a weird group think that they are easier to drive and more boring than GT2s, when in reality it's the opposite. I would love to see what a top pro in GT3 could do with a GT2. It was a similar story for LMP3 until they came to iRacing. Everyone thought they were easier to drive than LMP2, and then the Ligier JSP320 was added to iRacing and people realized how unruly they are. Everyone thought LMP3 was going to be dead at release, but they are still pretty popular and going strong. I think GT2s could be the same in ACC where obviously it's not as nearly as popular as GT3, but it won't be difficult to find some full and competitive races.

Mike, could you explain a bit more what you mean by the MC20 GT2 being "inspired by the 296"? The two don't share a chassis, powertrain, or much in the way of design (Klaus Busse designed the MC20; the 296 was designed by Ferrari in-house). Maserati and Ferrari have no further factory relations ever since Ferrari left FCA/Stellantis and went public, so I'm curious what relationship you're getting at. 🤔

Another excellent video, Mike. I did not give the GT2 cars much thought but, watching your video, I am rethinking my view. Oh, and I agree with you, on Mt. Panorama… I greatly enjoy watching races there but do not enjoy driving sim cars there. Thank you for taking the time to present these cars so well.

Great video as always so informative. 👍🏼👍🏼🔥🔥

Awesome!! Thanks Mike...can't wait to get my KTM on!

I figured Moby would be your least favorite. I've never driven something like that in a sim where I could connect to it either. For some reason, I connect best with the 911's. Looking forward to the console release of this DLC. Great video as always Mike. God bless and race on 🏁
  • @oktc68
Thanks Mike. May just add these to the collection.

I don't play ACC, but enjoyed this content Mike! Keep them coming!

Hey Mike do you realize that when you were driving the 935 you had traction control turned off? I've driven all of the GT2s and I quite like the 935 personally. The Maserati and Audi are my favorites but most are fun to drive in their own ways. Just curious why you didn't drive the Lamborghini and the Ferrari. Or were they not included in your early access? Great video as always!
  • Interesting format and an enjoyable watch. It's so funny how the GT2 ranking in these first impressions is all over the place. For example the Porsche has been anywhere from very bottom to the top like you have. For me the Maserati is where it's at and AMG was way faster than what all the reviews made me think.
  • @rjbishop6128
We should have a running feature where you say "listen to this" and then find a wall to hit :p
  • @tonybucca5667
Funny that you used the R8 at Bathhurst...I get my best times of any car on any track with that combo!
  • @texnorthman
My only issue with the Porsche GT2 is I keep hitting the rev-limiter :P I am mainly racing the 992 GT3 in ACC and the difference between the two cars engine characteristics is huge. Will give it some more time though, and of course I need to find some good setup tweaks.
  • @addd717
GT2 used to be even faster before it turned into rich people class. Now its a bit like a Frankenstein, yes you got more horsepower but GT3 are faster. For example on Bathurst i can hit 280 on straight in Bentley no problem. Its a nice addition and breath of fresh wind in to the sails in ACC, but i doubt it will be played frequently. But its a nice DLC reasonably priced.
