Target buck down! 1st on new property.

First deer taken on property, a loblolly farm with mixed hardwoods in SMZs. Had daily opportunities this year on smaller bucks and does but held out for 3 target bucks, this one being the top.

He had lost tons of weight either due to rut or a gash on his back from a likely archery graze. Very blessed to put him down as he may not have made it, though he was not limping or moving slow. His gash was healing, but there was some exposed muscle. What tough animals.

Lehigh bullet 110 gr Controlled Chaos dropped this deer in 20 yards. One lung was basically liquefied. Downside was zero blood trail. I mean zero.
