  • The people drumming for censorship are only outraged by it when the censorship is directed toward them.

There's a time and place for her political speech. Graduation day is not it.

Why didn't the news outlet state the social media posts by the Valedictorian?
  • @zealandzen
why didn't you show what she wrote on social media? how are we supposed to judge without all the facts?
  • @reyosegueda6395
NBC didn't say it, but we all have a good idea of what she most likely said on social media 😉
  • @jadeshalev1774
What were her social media comments that prompted this? Such inadequate reporting.
  • @MrTmax74
What did she even say? This news piece seems pointless without knowing what we're talking about lol
  • This news clip told me nothing, except some girls speech got cancelled. It looks like they want to be as vague as possible, so we can keep at each other's throats over our own opinions and speculations, instead of the FACTS.
  • @jackmaher4466
The same people who are angry about it are the same ones screaming to shut down conservative speech on campus.
  • Maybe they are super concerned that the speech will incite violence. I mean what was the social postings that caused this? Celebrate your graduation, keep your inflammatory politics. Just because you are free to speak, doesn't mean there are not consequences to your words.
  • @thesink5723
It's up to the school , not the student body or anyone else. They seem to have made that clear.
  • Why is no one anywhere saying what she tweeted that got her cancelled? I've looked all over and I cannot find a single article that highlights what she said that was controversial. That leads me to believe it was abhorrent.

...if universities/colleges can keep any speakers from presenting, for any reason, then this should not bother anyone.
  • What does politics have to do with a valedictorian speech? Aren't educational institutions suppose to be politically neutral?
  • @handle8431
I guess she was going to talk about the lack of human rights, women's rights, gay rights, Christian rights, Jewish rights, minority rights and journalist rights in the 2 billion, 41 Islamic APARTHEID nation world. Right?
  • No wonder NBC is such a trash source of news. As always they skipped the important details.😂😂😂
