Ahhh yes....Johnny Lee was great. He was at a bar in Michigan called the Urban Cowboy. He did a couple of songs for us. What a gentleman.

I miss Gilley's. Johnny used to sing with the house band there. That was a fun place to go to listen to good C & W music

He sounds as good as ever. A lot of performers suck when they get older or step outside the studio. Keep going, Johnny!

As a teen. I would go to this bar and drive my dad back home when he was drunk. Most nights there was no band and just an empty stage in the rear. I would walk back there and get on the stage dreaming of playing music and singing with the jukebox Fast forward about 13 years and i would be fronting lead singer in a country band making our rounds and we got to play here 4 times. It might seem like a small dream. But to me . It was like playing the Opry. One of my best memories.

Gilley's Nite club Pasadena Texas. The best thing that ever happened in Pasadena.  There was my youth!

Real country music is the best! This is when they kept it real!
  • I saw Johnny sing this five or six times and every time he sang, "He played it for the whiskey," I would yell out WHISKEY.

Sum of the best damn country music you'll ever hear right there. Shame he's playing 2 a crowded bar while today's Nashville clowns play to thousands and call it country,go figure.
