When we encountered certain unusual things, we would say "Veddy Eenteresting". RIP Arte Johnson.

I watched it with my grandmother back then and realized she wasn't that old thinking back. I'm 71 and old. LOL

Tiny Tim is still funny may he Rest In Peace. He was the first long haired guy I’d ever seen.

Dan Rowan was one of the finest comedy straight men of all time.

I never knew Eileen Brennen was an Alum. Loved Joanna Whorley, Ruth Buzzie, Arte Johnson, and Goldie Hawn. Cher was such a Pro. Her and Sonny's show was great too. But nothing could beat the Carol Burnett Show.

I was 6 years old when this show come out. I understood so little of it, but loved the zaniness, the joke wall, the fast pace. It was silly and crazy and I loved it, even though most of it went straight over my head. 😂 What a nice tip-toe through the tulips of memory lane.

I grew up near Burbank and in 1968 when I got my first car at 17 I would go to a lot of Laugh In tapings. Surprisingly they weren't well attended. Always under 100 in a studio that would seat about 250/300. One time between skit setups I went to the vending matchings that were in the service corridor and there in front of me at the candy machine was Goldie Hawn in a bikini and her painted tattoos. I wanted to say something, but I was at a loss for words. Many times, between set breakdowns I would wander the backstage corridors and walk right pass a lot of celebrities and no one said anything or tried to stop me. Bob Hope, Danny Thomas, Sammy Davis Jr, Carrol Burnett to name some. I know that couldn't happened today. Different era. The show was actually funnier live then it was on TV. Watching her on TV I thought she was putting on an act but seeing her live it definitely wasn't an act.

OMG I am old, I remember all of these actors. At least Goldie is still with Kurt Russel. The 70's were lit.
  • I watched it as a college sophomore with my father. My Dad got most of it, escalating his "Dad is cool" factor enormously.

Aired February 4th, 1968 ~ just after the Tet Offensive, ten days before my 11th birthday, and what a year to remember.
  • During warm evenings, I would be outside playing with my little friends on Monday nights. I still remember my father laughing loudly watching Laugh-In. My parents bought me a little t-shirt "Here Comes Da Judge" that I still remember wearing!
