We really went from “The Wii U is the worst console” to “The Wii U is the best console”. HTF did that happen.

People hated the wii u when it came out but i never disliked it, i love both of them.

F*ck the "Wii U (vs) Switch" debate ! Both consoles are awesome and have procured tons of fun memories to their players despite their flaws !

this is a side affect of nintendo not giving us a crumb on what there working on.

Just wait 7-8 years or so. People will be looking back on the Switch fondly and saying how amazing it was while trashing Nintendo's current console, like we're seeing with the Wii U and Switch right now. It's just the cycle of nostalgia and the typical "old thing good, new thing bad" mentality. Happens everytime. Edit: Just wanted to tag this on. People can tout whatever advantages the Wii U has over the Switch all they want. That console almost single-handedly put Nintendo out of the home console race, to the point where Iwata had to cut his paycheck in order to make sure that his employees actually got decent pay and would keep their jobs. The Wii U was a dark and desperate time for Nintendo as a company, and no amount of "soul" or "charm" will change that.

Wii U was the end of the golden era. Wii and DS was the Gen Z golden era

Where was all this Wii U love when the Wii U was actually around?

What I don't get about this debate is that some people think that one of these consoles has to be bad.
  • I'm just glad people started to appreciate the Wii U more. As it should have been since... well, ever

The majority of the gaming community for Nintendo games suddenly care about the wii u? Weird ain't it. Once Nintendo announced the online compatibility of the wii u was to be removed, the console that was one of the worst selling and critically, commercially flopped and panned by most gamers! Oh now you care! Because the old adage of "you won't know what you've got till it's gone".

Nintendo got too comfortable at the top after the knockout success of the Wii. They forgot why the Wii was a success in the first place, which is because it appealed to everybody. Nintendo just figured that people who own a Wii will buy a Wii U because it is the next console. The Wii U era really humbled them, and they came out of it better than ever with the release of the Switch.
  • The debate is hilarious cuz if even a quarter of the people that are saying WIiu was actually goated and better than the Switch actually bought one the sales would have been better.

Bro did not just say origami King is pretty much the same as sticker star💀
  • I’m a big fan of both consoles, but honestly, I think a lot of the arguments favoring the Wii U are based on potentially a lot of people not remembering a lot of the bad business decisions Nintendo made during the Wii U’s days of relevancy or the ridiculously slow rate we got games for it (except for maybe 2014), are ignoring them because they’re no longer an issue and they want to focus on stuff like the main menu (which I can agree is a step back aesthetically) or the games with the free update model, or were just not there when it all happened. I love both consoles but I can see why the Switch got the spotlight way more.
