  • I tend to be the one person that disagrees in Youtube comments.
I don't like electronics in a jeep wrangler, it takes away from what it was originally designed for, simplicity, ease of repair in the field.
The power top, hate it. 4XE, hate it. E-torque, hate that too, glad its not in my jeep.
Most people that buy these are not going to wheel it like we do, some will, most won't.
And when I say 'wheel it' I mean swapping axles, regear, lockers, lift, tires, bumpers, winch.
Driving down an Unassumed Road is not wheeling, it might get you in the door, and if your lucky you get infected with the Jeep Thing.
I love driving/wheeling with the top and doors off. And maybe I'm just old and like the simple things in life.
I have huge reservations about the next generation of Jeep and what thats going to look like.
Thou I did buy a 2018 JLU Sport, not because I didn't want the JK, because the JL was just hitting the lots, the dealer gave me such a good deal on the JLU I had to take it.

So to be clear, tech and electronics are fine in your everyday average vehicle. I just don't think it makes sense in a Jeep Wrangler.

OH, Cameras, I hate cameras. Talk about taking the fun out of wheeling. And I think cameras add a false sense of security. But like I said, I'm old, I think old school.

Keep the vids coming, I don't always agree, but thats what opinions are for.
  • The Hurricane would be a perfect fit in the Gladiator.. Our time with it in the heavy Grand Wagoneer was a blast. The motor has some pop and thats something the Gladiator needs
  • @HIMcules2112
I'd love to see a 2 door gladiator with a shorter wheel base

Great information as always. Thanks for posting. 👍

Great Video Matt! Thanks for keeping up on all things Jeep!!!

Super happy with my 2022 Mojave. Exactly for what I need it for and can still do 80% of what a rubicon does. Great as a daily and so far it’s been a good build. Waiting until after deployment to finish up with some wheels and 35s, re gear it and put on an aev 2 inch leveling kit that goes well with the Mojave package.
  • Thanks. My wife loves my 2022 JLU and wants to get a matching Gladiator Willys Sport to haul grand kids and gardening supplies. So thanks for this update, we definitively would want them to match so I better get her a 2023!

    Love your videos mate.
I’m from Australia, and wranglers are so expensive here. I’d love to see a re fresh before I order 1. Nice quilted seats are definitely needed with cool seats ..
and current model been around since 2018 - to definitely time for some updates!!! Please!!! :)
  • @mamatobz2890
Thanks for these videos. We have decided to go with a Gladiator. Just need a cool color!!! Wish they’d put a Hemi in it too but I’ll take it when I have a really sick color ❤
  • @05collins
Hey Matt, thanks for the video. Do you see a future for the 3.0L hurricane in the wranglers??
  • @morningdrums
I really hope that jeep homes in on the mpg. I have thought of getting my own gladiator rubricon. I hope they also work on the highway windage as well as the noise factor inside the cabin to make it quieter. Rear seats, I really wish they would redesign the rear seat with the seats folding down. and more space under their rear seats. A refresh, gladiatort that comes with a better lift, bigger more off road worthy tires
  • As a Gladiator sport owner.. there's a bit I like about the truck, and a few things I wish was better.. Now, what i like about it. Mine was bought used, has a 3" lift, is on 34s, has a front steel bumper with winch, and has 3 different options for the top from the previous owner to name a couple of things. That's great, and why I bought it.
Now, what I wish was better. The seats, as being almost 6'4 aren't comfortable in adjustment. My wife however, feels she's comfortable at almost 5'10.. Cooled seats would be nice, and paddle shifters if it is ever to come about. Also, standard navigation would be nice. Oh, agreed about putting at least the Hemi in it. Or SC it it at least if they're going that way.. I get better fuel economy in my Dodge Challenger Scat Pack..
The reason for the paddle shifters.. on several occasions when off-roading I've accidentally pushed the shifter into neutral when hitting a bump.
  • @ShaunsJeep
I would love for jeep to offer different options for gearing up to 5.13's if they could. I would love also for the rear window to be electric like the Tacoma.I would also love for the seats to be cooled or AC and bring back the Gator color.
  • @twoallame
The multiple piece roof would be kinda nice...especially if it became a cover for the bed.....but as an owner of a 2016 jku Rubicon hard rock, I take the whole roof off in spring, summer and fall....after 6 years of ownership I notice that the roof panels have quite a noisy squeak to it when bumps are hit, pot holes and other things....but its a JEEP thing.....lol
  • @txmojave4546
Got me with the thumb nail Matt. I'm a sucker for a bronze or gold gladiator. In line 6 should be better for torque aka towing. If it's for 2024 I'm in.
  • @onebridge7231
New front seats that have the knee extenders (think BMWs) would be great to make them more comfortable on longer drives.
  • I have a 2022 gobi willys sport gladiator with a manual. We do enjoy it but I did trade in my hemi ram 1500 for my mustang(def glad I did for production and fun reasons) but I wish the gladiator would have a V8. Never understood why they don't have the 5.7, even detuned in the gladiator. Would be nice to have a couple more modern standard features. But it has been fun, surprisingly comfortable and people really seem to like it. I would even take the hurricane at this point but damn I miss my hemi(joe dirt voice)!
  • ok i was on the fence about ordering a gloss blue mojave. but as soon as you said theres a possibility the gladiator could get the hurricane. im waiting, cus thats the best engine i think for the gladiator. it will probably be equal or greater than the deisel in towing while also being for fun and rev happy, like the 3.6. personally I've fallen out of love with V8s tho, they really only suit fullsize trucks and most get em for the nostalgia. so heres to hoping they release a badass new color, make the standard engine option the 3.0TT, with an improved Mojave trim level. That is a vehicle i would factory order in a heart beat.
