This is literally how among us downfall because they decided to add child safe thing but like most of the players were like grown adults or people over that age I don't need to think they were kids like younger than probably 9 on the game
  • @therealkayr15
I knew this was targeted at 1.19, if they had just added fireflies and let servers make their own rules, the game would have been so much better

5:27 2015: is the only year that has no updates Mojang now:wanna see me do it again?
  • @randomstat
I agree with nearly everything but the mending part. Mending allows players to spend less time creating new gear and allows them to build large beautiful structures or create massive contraptions.
  • @kindagamer525
Infuriating fact: The only reason fireflies were cut from 1.19 is because fireflies are poisonous to some species of frogs.

First and foremost it is easy to judge past updates with current knowledge. Everyone makes "mistakes" and it is only normal that Mojang has done some. Mojang as a game developer also has to make some things that are not what we want but what we need as a player. Farelands were not removed, it was a bug caused by the generation and the maths used for that, they updated the system for other reasons than fixing farelands. Yes were exciting, but really without using tp you weren't able to go so far as to see them, and because of how the generation, (and the fact that Minecraft was losing floating point precision so far from 0,0) that region was laggy AF and could even crash your game. It is nostalgic and all, but adding a world border also add a lot of feature for map making, RP, etc... And if you want to live in Farelands there are still seeds that trick the game generation into creating them. And if you want your own seed, they are mods. The Giant used to spawn in infdev, granted that there is an update where they remove its AI, but now it's the same as a zombie. Yes, it is not "used" right now but was, and still is a good tool for mapper and map making. If you don't want to bother you can just spawn a Giant with armor and you will have a decent boss. For illusionner and zombie horse they were naturally spawning in a non-snapshot version of the game, however, they are good for map making and RP also. It's not because something is not used in vanilla survival, that it's useless, Minecraft is enormous and has lots of communities. Some focus on vanilla survival exploration, builds, mini-games... others focus on creative buildings, storytelling,... others on creating (map) games with or without a story,... they are modded Minecraft also, and a lot of other things. They are a lot of different things you can do in Minecraft and all of them don't use the same things. The whole point of a community mob vote is NOT to implement a mob but to give the community the power of what will come, granted it's "just" a mob. Mojang can't do anything if the community vote and regret it (i.e. phantoms) or if they were rigged in their voting (i.e. glow squid), because that's also what the community doing. Yes, they could communicate about that, but can't redo a vote for the glow squid or delete a mob that the community chose. All the things about the early Minecraft mobs are that they were tests, they were no mobs at that time. But yes from the 2022 Minecraft point of view non-cubic mobs such as them look weird. And fun fact the creeper originally was a test and its skin was from a pig with all of its legs on the ground and painted green. And btw if you think the phantom is a bad mob thing about a mob that can one-kill you, damage the environment and you don't hear it coming, yes the creeper, we're just used to it now. And I don't see where the snowball that hit you but don't is a "Stupidest Minecraft Updates". The same thing for the achievement -> advancement, it's a no care, the name change update. The translator cape was not removed, Jeb just said that it will not be given to translators as frequently as Mojang had said, because of abusive behavior. Still, after that, it has been given to some translator. The Mojang cape, it's just that it's now the 3rd design, not removed. The beacon cape is the only one that was deleted from the user because of excessive demands from players. Btw the cape was given for the idea of the Pigman. There is another cape that was given to someone after resolving a problem with migration, but it was removed shortly after because of cape rarity. Minecraft is not getting too easy, it's just that we now have more things available to us. Yes, you can speedrun the ender dragon, but it's not the same gameplay as a "normal" survival game. Netherite and totems are relatively late game / expensive. It's more of a new end game than an easy upgrade. The only one that thinks of netherite and totems as easily obtainable are those who don't need them, to begin with. Beacon and potions are not OP at all, really not. They are useful but not OP and don't trivialize the gameplay. How is the 4 secret painting "Stupidest Minecraft Updates"? I just really don't see the point with the video title. Same with the chicken/duck things it was a joke. And yes Minecraft is the java edition first not the bedrock one. Just speaking the facts Java came first. Yes, torch burnout COULD have been one of the "Stupidest Minecraft Updates", but it never happens so, your title doesn't fit lots of the examples. Nothing to say about those endless oceans, there were really toooooo big. I agree and don't with the teasing of a future update. It is good to tease future update to have: - feedback from the community (if they like what's coming) -show what's coming (obviously) -keep a good hype around the game However, they teased too much with the biome arts that were just art and not a statement about a future biome in the update, those god damn fireflies and the archaeology which is nowhere to be found. Cave & Cliff was split because of problems in the development, they gave us what they could and don't just delay the whole thing. To me, it's more of a good move than anything else. And yes updates used to be more frequent but it's harder and harder to add things in the game with each update, they are fewer things to add, you have to keep the essence of the game, etc... The newer update also tends to be bigger and more refined than the earlier one. The OG Pigman was added in 2010 with the nether, and the nether update in 2020, 10 whole years after added new mobs were added. The Pigman becoming a Zombified Piglin is for consistency. Petrified Oak Slabs are a variant of stone-type slabs with an oak plank texture on them. They are no more obtainable in survival. Other than bit switching and such with which you can have every block that is in the game. The bad forum is, again, not a "Stupidest Minecraft Updates". Mending is not a mistake, if anything it is one of the best quality of life improvements Mojang added. Yes, you "just" have to collect XP to repair, but you have to create an XP farm. It is not given, you have to trade with the villager, which is easy for many. If anything it gives incentives to create an XP farm and to trade with Villager which are both game mechanics. You have to: - obtain the enchantment - create an XP farm - go to your XP farm every time you need to repair It's not OP, it's just a huge QOL improvement. And with mending being added repairing of the item changed. Before by remaining your item the XP cost no longer increased when repairing, now it will increase. Making repairing more costly before you can get mending. Mending could be made harder to obtain, but for the casual player (which is the majority) it is hard to get. And Minecraft has never been a hard game, or it never has been for a good player who knew what they do. And how gamma is a bag removal? It never was intended to have Fullbright available (and you still can have it). The fact that you could go to your setting and set a gamma higher than the Bright setting was a bug (MC-51418) and as I said never intended.
  • I like how when he put “questionable decisions” and proceeds to show things that the community chose lmao
  • @Thomasha22
4:11 The 4 hidden paintings: earth, doritoes, water and wind.
  • @KingenFFS
0:57 you could see your coordinates on an map in bedrock before they added the coordinates as an optional
  • @azurecyan4289
6:32 They also introduced oceans so big that the players could build Backrooms Level 7 in it.
  • I dont know why everyone hates 1.9, since it allows fights to be way more unique, instead of just spamming mindlessly, and we also have the elytra from it
  • @irakli-2k
2:40 I'm gonna fix author: A new dev added these mobs, but then he left the studio and mobs were removed.
  • At 6:07 you used that halloween map and I love it because I have that old version but I have also the newer one
  • "If Microsoft chooses to get rid of Java Edition-" Dude. Microsoft only has Bedrock and Mojang only has Java. They might work together sometimes at least but still.
  • @rdrekin954
Actually kind of disagree that 1.9 is the worst update ever because now we have 1.19.1.
  • I 100% disagree. 1.19.1 was worse then 1.9. 1.9 is a good update for singleplayer and you can easily fix 1.9 in muiltiplayer.
