Rockingham Speedway was opened on Halloween Day, October 31st 1965 hosting the American 500 which was won by Curtis Turner for NASCAR's top series. It would continue to host NASCAR racing until the 2004 Subway 400 which was won by Matt Kenseth. The track is a 1.017 mile d-shaped oval with 22-25° banking in the turns. It has a capacity of approximately 35,000 and is located in Rockingham, NC.
