LYRICS:
WAIT
DON’T HOLD YOUR BREATH FOR GOODNESS SAKE
NOBODY’S HOME
BUT YOU’VE GOT
PARLIAMENTS FILLED WITH PARASITES
PLUS MARQUEES WITH YOUR NAME IN LIGHTS
A STAR IS BORN, AND THATS THE TRADE
FOR EVERYONE YOU KNOW

LETS GO PAINT THE TOWN
ON OUR WAY HOME
THE BLINKING LIGHTS
ARE BREAKING BONES
CAST ALL YOUR SPELLS
AND THERE YOU HAVE
THAT GOOD OLD FASHION RAZZMATAZZ

OH
YOU BROKE MY HEART AGAIN
YOU CLIMBED UP ON YOUR IVORY TOWER
AND PAID OFF ALL MY FRIENDS
AND NOW WELL
SOME THINGS JUST CANNOT BE FIXED
WITH SPARKLED TONGUES
AND POLITICS

IN A FASCIST LITTLE PARADOX
WE ALL BECOME ANONYMOUS

LETS GO PAINT THE TOWN
ON OUR WAY HOME
THE BLINKING LIGHTS
ARE BREAKING BONES
CAST ALL YOUR SPELLS
AND THERE YOU HAVE
THAT GOOD OLD FASHION RAZZMATAZZ

Me: Surely Dallon can't get his voice any higher? Dallon: CAST ALL YOUR SPELLS.

There's something absolutely brilliant about making this the last song on the album. After getting a taste of the bombastic Leave Me Alone, the mellow tunes of this song sounds like reaching the end of the journey; hearing the song eventually fade with the curtains closing. The sax outro sounds like watching the sun setting from the horizon. It's just so well-thought that it drives me insane.

can't wait to listen to only this for several days
  • @wormzer
the coloured squares shifting around, the song, everything about this is just so aesthetically pleasing ✨
  • So Dallon can sing those high notes without any problem but when I do I "sound like a cat getting strangled" and "it's 3am"??

I don’t think this would sound right with anyone else’s voice. dallon has such a raw power about him, especially on the little interjections (oh, yeah!, ending consonants). I just. ahhhh. I cannot wait for the album so I can memorize the songs and cry in the club

This already slaps like THE MELODY, BASS LINE, HIGH VOICE, DRUMS, SAX SOLOS, 80'S VIBES, AND DOCTOR WHO VIBES JUST YES

the way that we only have 2 songs from the album but we can all collectively agree that it's still gonna slap

This comment is for Kevin: we had a video editing class at a community college in 2019, you sat next to me and made me feel less alone in a male dominated space. You also introduced me to this band. I’m still listening to them five years later. Hope you’re doing great my man!❤

I don't know how but there's this kind of hypnotizing about this song. I can't put my mind on it... I will gladly succumb in your spells.

IDKHow's previous album had the vibes of "it's 1983 and I'm being interrogated for a series of murders that I committed at the age of 17 with a shady alibi" while this one, so far, has more "closeted 1960s gay tv show host getting drunk at an after party and trying to confront their crippling depression and soulless marriage" and it's amazing.

Every man without glasses: This ain't a lyric video.
