Come take a tour through the most surreal location I have ever witnessed. Filled with tennis courts, 18 loft buildings, one 6 story condo tower complete with penthouses, & a massive restaurant and pool complex. All completely abandoned and untouched.

2020 Update - The The Colony has now been completely demolished and there are finalized plans for a St. Regis hotel and residential complex to be built on the land. While the plot of beachfront property is still fenced off with nothing but grass growing, a preview/sales center is expected to be built in 2021. Who knows when the hotel will actually be built though...

  • I love the fact you tell the history of the buildings unlike other YouTube explorers . Thank you for your effort.

Is anyone else watching this in 2020 and wondered "who would leave a perfectly good can of lysol spray like that?" 😆
  • As a homeowner I saw so much salvageable materials that it almost makes me sad. I wish I had countertops and mirrors that looked like that. Even some of the bed frames were in fantastic condition. Great video. Thanks
  • @Hectoreo
This is honestly so creepy. The way a bunch of personal belongings are just laying around, it feels like everyone just suddenly disappeared without a trace
  • @DasaniSaltWater
The part where he was in the exact same room as the recording of the guy with the guitar really hit me in the heart.

What I realized by watching your videos is that we're all gonna die someday and leave all our crap behind.. Every single one of us.
  • The slicing of editing between the abandoned clips and clips from the resort was absolutely brilliant. Really well done!
  • For me, there's always something so sad about abandoned resorts or residences and not just all the useful things that get left behind that could have been repurposed. It is that existential sense of lost potential and memories that were made and will now fade away in time.

So trippy seeing that suitcase with the belongings still there. Looked like something out of a zombie apocalypse
  • @MiaOnline
All the furniture that is in good condition could've been donated to those in need...what a waste...
  • @peteaulit
And 8 month after this video The Colony resort on Longboat Key was demolished to build a $650M luxury hotel and condo resort. So thanks for having done this video of a ghost place that neighbors are happy to see gone.
  • @soco2020
Some of those rooms are in remarkably good shape for spending 7 years abandoned in Florida.
  • @airlinebub4123
holy quality, this is better than lots of professional documentaries I have seen!
  • @NathanHassall
What an amazing coincidence! I am the sign maker who created the "Tennis View" Sign that can be seen at precisely 14:02 in this video...glad to see its still looking fantastic and holding up. The man who created the sign under my own sign was my bitter enemy who for years tried to have my sign placed somewhere else but I kept fighting back and placing my sign in its rightful location...If you are reading this Gerald HAHAHAHA my sign is better then your sign!
  • This video gave me a variety of emotions; The eeerie feeling of why guests left soo many persanal stuff behind. The amazement of owning such huge property and just have it there. Sadness cause there are soo many people sleeping on the streets where thus could provide a bed fir quite a few. This world is truly weird. Thanks for your research this was really surreal.

I found an article in the Sarasota Herald Tribune on 8/9/2018 about the demolition. I found this snippet amusing: "Wednesday’s work was cut short when the excavator ripped into Building 15 on the north side of the property and sliced through a giant beehive. Angry insects descended on several workers, stinging one three times. The workday then ended."
  • @Epicmango7
The drone footage in the beginning was breathtaking. I like the beds lol Great work
  • I know alot of people are saying it but the editing in the video, along side with the productuon, is just so DANG good. Enough exploration then a explanation to pad out the video, and playing the old videos while exploring makes it alot more easier to get the feel of the place. This channel is the G.O.A.T. of exploration and dare that I say, documentary like channel I've seen on this site.
