  • I have tears streaming down my face after watching this. I just don't even know how to begin to describe the level of respect I have for the beautiful, young indigenous people who speak in this doco. It might sound strange to say this about people I don't know, but watching this I felt so proud of them as young people, so true, so graceful, so tenacious, so rooted in their spirituality; over and over, in the face of such struggle. Theirs is no small achievement. The commitment to non-violence that this whole movement has shown, and more than this , the spiritual honesty of the humility and persistent commitment to empathy and utter refusal of hatred that they show in their interactions with the police had me in tears, this a much needed balm to the heart. Whose heart could continue to be hardened in the face of such grace, such humility, such true hearts? From across the ocean my heart flows out to all the people who stand with standing rock, and to standing rock itself, the land, the water, the animals, those wide grassy plains.
  • This is where the police ate Thanksgiving dinner. On top of the graves and on sacred land. This was not just old graves there were new graves. This is so sad and disrespectful.

26:02 She's so inspirational. I wish everyone had that much love and heart to stand up for what they believe in...
  • That guy trying to keep everyone in line and in prayer is the smartest guy out there big props to him!

Such strength, power and beauty. I am honored that I got to share in this testament to empowerment and healing. The power of forgiveness...

I'm Brazilian and I think that natives all over the world have very similar problems, I respect their rights, natives are the first and legitimate Americans, I'm South Americans, and I'm very proud of my indigenous ancestors.

Ignorance in the comments is unreal. Everyone wants “respect,” but can not give it. Do research. Standing rock are eyes wide open! Incredibly smart men and women who are thinking not only of themselves but their future generations.
  • @oodoodoopoopoo
IIYC, I wish my children were old enough to stand with you. I will teach them the truth.
  • It's encouraging to see good people standing up n confront the evil when evil uses all means at their disposal to intimidate the protesters. Stay strong n true. Bless

Now we know...we are STRONGER for it..we always were...
  • I am a Water Protector. I wish all of the Water Protectors would meet once a year during anniversary times for us. We are all relatives. We were prayerful and peaceful and we were utterly brutalized by private missionary's, cops and our own military. I almost died there too. I would return without a second thought. MNI WICONI is real. I stand with my relatives at Standing Rock for all time.
  • Very true it is so much more than this video portrays. I am not native but the mother of native son and grandsons. This is for all people. I am a registered nurse, water is life. Oil companies come in pushing oil, all pipes eventually leak. This pipeline is going straight down the middle of Iowa. Where most of the food is grown by the farmers. When earth has no more water and no more food, what happens to human life. Water is life, prayers for all that the government comes to its senses and realizes we are a smart people with better ways to power our country. The first Ford car ran off of hemp fuel. How many people realized this. There are alternatives for us before we destroy earth.

Whew reliving these events. Haven’t touched these painful memories for some time. Haven’t wanted to. I needed to though. I am now reminded and inspired and motivated to action taking care of my responsibility and duty to be a helper to the youth and live my name.Akawe Osa Animikii. First Yellow/Spring Thunder.

thanks a lot for this contribution with all these wonderful human beings. it makes so sad that all these protectors are treated with goverment and corporation violence and lying, not only today but since 7generation. I will always stand with you. I hold all of you in high regard. thanks , love and compassion. I pray that the profit-sharks will be brought to justice and that there will never be frecking oil and this pipeline, no DAPL, no pipeline nowhere.
