This 21-minute short film, Prelude to Axanar, premiered Saturday, July 26th, 2014, at San Diego Comic-Con, and features Richard Hatch, Tony Todd, Kate Vernon, JG Hertzler, and Gary Graham -- Gary reprises his role of Soval from "Enterprise." The makeup and hair was designed by Academy Award winner Kevin Haney and Star Trek veteran Brad Look of Makeup Effects Lab in Hollywood. Top that off with the amazing visual effects of Tobias Richter of The Light Works, and sound by Academy Award winner Frank Serafine, and Mark Edward Lewis, and the result is Prelude to Axanar: something unlike anything you have ever seen before. We have our loyal donors to thank for this and we couldn't be more grateful!

HOW, in the name of GOODNESS, can a 21 minute fan-film be better than an entire season of "official" Trek material (you know what I'm talking about)? Oh yeah, because it was made by people who actually care.
  • @pduidesign
Paramount should have hired this team to make a Star Trek show. Talk about a no brainer.
  • @LordDawnWreaver
The moment a fanfiction has better story than current star trek
  • @KingreX32
THIS SHOULD BE OFFICIAL CANON!!!! I wont stop saying it
  • Thanks Paramount for killing this project. As a special way of thanking you, I will take great pleasure in watching pirated episodes of Star Trek series.

Axanar did in 21 minutes what Discovery couldn't do with a FULL SEASON! Axanar gripped your interest and NEVER let it go! It had you wanting more! Discovery, you needed hydraulic jacks to keep your eyes open due to stupidity and just flashy effects with no storyline or substance!! I watched this as many times as I have seen the original series (40 plus times) and never tire of it! Alec Peters captured Star Trek canon to perfection! He built the bridge between Enterprise in Captain Archer's era to the beginning of the Pike/Kirk eras! The way this story was told in such a short time showed details, depth, and just AWESOME story telling! Any pure fan of Star Trek delights in this series and Star Trek Continues! Two fan based series that is better than ANYTHING CBS, or Hollywood can produce! Note to Hollywood: THIS IS HOW YOU DO STAR TREK!!!!!

I came back to express my sadness at the death of Gary Graham. He added so much to Alien Nation, Star Trek and especially Axanar. You will be missed.
  • @DanielVance
RIP Gary Graham. You will definitely live on through the roles you've played.
  • To Hollywood film studios, this is the only Star Trek movie I want to see

LoL Soval's "Andorian acquaintance" is absolutely Shran.
  • My favorite bit is when Soval says, "An Andorian acquaintance once said: 'Don't push the pink-skins to the thin ice.'" I think we all know which Andorian he's referring to.

This 20 minutes has more story, direction, clarity, and real emotion than the entire first season of Discovery.

You know you struck gold when a 6 year old fanfic has comments under 5 days old.
  • @jwilde642
Six fucking years, and still, CBS/Paramount has no answer to this...
  • @Ares99999
This felt more like Star Trek than Discovery ever did.

The loss of the original concept of Axanar due to CBS lawsuit is such a significant loss to the Star Trek fan community. It would have been, well Glorious!
