Taking a girl away from class to change her clothes and telling her she isn't dressed appropriately is more distracting for the girl AND the class way more that a boy seeing a girls shoulder or knee.

Here in America we're more worried about what the students wear than what they learn!

Oh my god her collarbones!!! Did you see her collarbones??? I’m like so distracted....

Teacher that sees a girl’s shoulder: “OMG DRESS-CODED YOU ARE SUSPENDED FOR A WEEK!!!” Student: (gets bullied) Teacher: “Boys’ll be boys” / “Kids’ll be kids” / They’re just joking” Me: 🤦🏽‍♀️
  • *person violating school dresscode* School:OMG WHAT A SIN WE DEFINITELY NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! *kid gets bullied* School: yall hear sumn?

High school boys: “OMG, BRO DO WE SEE HER SHOULDERS IM GETTING AROUSED!” Schools: “BAN SHOULDERS” Girls wear long sleeve shirts and long pants School: excellent! boys wear tank tops cut down at the sides revealing there whole torso. Boys wear shorts showing there underwear. Schools: I don’t see anything wrong with that.

I always thought it was damn hysterical when all the girls at my school were subjected to this stupid, sexist dress code...all except the cheerleaders on Friday. On Friday they were allowed to wear the skirts that barely covered their cheeks because, hey, it was a uniform. Meanwhile, if a girl who was, say, 140 pounds, were to let a shoulder fall revealing a bra strap, she was sent to ISS like a thug. And if a guy walked around with his pants halfway down his drawers, nothing was said at all!

Even as a dude, I can tell there's a weird way of how girls are normally treated in dress codes vs. guys. And then they wonder why some groups of girls purposely break the dress code (though not in an over-the-top, panties-and-bras-only way, of course). I almost applaud them for that. If they're gonna be treated a different way for wearing certain clothes in comparison to dudes, it becomes a "why bother?" situation.
  • People say "You should dress formal, it's only appropriate." Uhhh no. I'm sorry, but school can suck it. I'm there to learn, not to get told what to wear. School is not a job. I'm not getting payed to go, so why can't I wear what I like? So what if "boys and girls get distracted"? That's thier problem, not mine.
  • If the clothing is so "inappropriate" why broadcast it in video for the whole school to watch?

Okay let me start off by saying I’m a thick girl, no doubt. I wore a flowing dress that passed my fingertips and the assistant principal came up to me and gave me a tone that was rather judgmental saying “do you have pants under that?!” And “that is EXTREMELY short” I’m not even exaggerating. It was embarrassing and unnecessary, my dress wasn’t dress code yet they dress coded me. Plus I seen a skinny girl walking around with shorts way shorter than my dress and they didn’t say anything to her. I hate my school🙄

What's wrong with "athletic" shorts? The hell they wear in gym? Also people complaining about feminists are just as annoying, has nothing to do with feminism honestly that girl being interviewed was annoying, but if you don't see the way schools sexualize young girls, you're blind. Also, if a dress code gonna be this strict, why don't they just have uniforms?

I really want a girl to say to an administrator, "umm, I am distracted by the boys collar bone, and their legs, I just couldnt focus on the test." I would appreciate that very much!

Kid getting beat up School: huH? Girls short are 0.1 mm too short School: WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?

So let me get this straight: people in America are allowed to have guns BUT if you’re a girl, wearing shorts and a crop top to school is a big no-no? Priorities at the very finest. Dress code literally makes no sense whatsoever. In my country, girls and boys are allowed to wear whatever they want to. Some years ago a girl from my school came in a bikini last school day (it’s a tradition to dress up like you do in halloween, when you graduate from school) and the teachers didn’t give a damn about it.

as someone who’s lived in north texas my entire life, it gets ridiculously hot, i’m talking 110 degrees, telling girls they need to where something longer or more covering is ridiculous, especially considering the weather.

This is Texas, I think most people who went to school in Texas know teachers are overly serious about PDA and dress code lots of bs
  • @AnnelieseJPG
My shoulders are apparently a “distraction.” 🙂
