She didn't tell you how the police arrested those guys and then a judge release them on bail. The judges in ontario are failing us miserably.
  • @Car-Ramrod69
The vehicle owners were then promptly arrested and fined for not leaving their keys in the vehicle.

Car thieves were probably out of jail and stealing again within 24hrs.

Average person saves up enough money for a down payment, monthly insurance...oh you must also get an expensive immobilizer, best alarm system, the club, several air tags. What part does the police or legislators do exactly? Because nothing seems to be changing.
  • Those criminals are out commiting crimes on the next day. Due to all this car thieves will cost all insurance holders

Canadian police are doing their jobs. That is not the problem. The justice system is the problem. Many repeat offenders are allowed back into the community and are now educating the teens that crime does pay in both Canada and America. Unfortunately, common sense is just not there anymore.

Until punishment changes, it will continue no matter what you do to prevent.
  • My brother had his Honda Prelude stolen in 2011 when he lived on Keele St. He moved out of Toronto and bought a house😊

Don't want car insurance rates to go UP? How about returning to the OLD Licensing system, with REAL Drivers' TESTS, and more Traffic Enforcement....not just for SPEED, but for other moving violations that USED TO BE enforced. Stop signs, turning on Red Lights without stopping first, 'camping' in the PASSING LANE, and an oldie but goodie, 'Drive right, pass LEFT'. Then watch the 'collision rate' drop, and the Insurance rates along with it.
  • How about being able to 'defend' our homes AND property WITHOUT fear of being arrested for doing that ? It would go a LONG way to cut down on crime when the police are an ADMITTED 20 minutes time or more away, and that's if they even eventually show up to DO their jobs !!! No wonder so many Canadians are near the boiling point, for SO many, many, different reasons

Thank you for at least admitting this is terrorism on our soil. What happened to that Poor Mother and Her 3Beautiful Babies was also an act of terrorism.. This is NOT My Canada.. This has to stop...
  • Here at our dealership we have had many of our customers had their vehicle stolen , Cadillac , Chev dealer . Escalades and Yukons especially . There was a dealership in the GTA that was hacked for vehicles and addresses of customers who own these vehicles . The owner of our dealership had his Escalade V and wife's Yukon taken from his driveway . The beaches in Toronto a popular spot because of the high end houses and vehicles in driveways . We are relocating the horn on these vehicles to the inner fender considering this is the first thing they pull then they pull the Onstar plus some customers are removing the fuel pump fuse . We also have after market security going into all new vehicles . They have set up a task force with some success but really hasnt put a dent in the problem ..
  • First if have a garage put vehicles in there. And put your junk from your garage in a shed in your backyard. Or have a shed built for in your backyard for all your junk from your garage.

No point enacting more legislation for renters when the Landlord and Tenant Board doesn't have enough resource to effectively enforce current laws.

Ladies and Gents, I watched my high lander being stollen with the steering club in place…. It took them 30 secs to start the truck! And 4 mins 30secs to get the steering club off…. I was curious how they got it unlocked…. It’s nitrogen spray and screw driver ! Cheers.
  • That’s the problem with technology, people know how to beat the system and makes it even easier to steal a car without causing damage, all you need is a computer.

At the end of the day it is mostly the hard working tax payer who has to pocket out more for the already ill affordable high insurance for cars. The easiest way to stop this is NO BAIL, mandatory 10 years hard labor.
