Besides what Kyle provided he had wonderful and knowledgeable free help from family. You all need a shout out too. It's a great project. And yet, those dirt bags are something like $5000 so I wouldn't call this a dirt-cheap tiny house. Personally, I bought and used five tons of straw at a cost of $375, minimal stud framing and got a 24'x24' cabin installed for less. (I actually bought eleven tons of straw, hired a semi and sold six tons that day, offsetting my transporation cost for my own.) Down in Peru, I designed a house that a hundred volunteers could build and assemble in a span of five days for a cost of $500 each. I'm not kidding.
