BLENDER - ROCK MATERIAL STUDY- hand painted

In my latest video, I explore a unique approach to hand-painting rock textures using Blender. The video provides a full demonstration of the material study process and offers insights into how I apply this technique to my daily work.

As a professional in the game art industry, I believe in the importance of continuous learning, and this video represents my daily efforts to expand my skill set. My inspiration for this workflow comes from a video tutorial by the talented artist Gammatrap, whose work I highly recommend to anyone interested in hand-painting materials.

If you enjoyed this video, please consider following Gammatrap on YouTube for more inspiring tutorials and tips on hand-painting materials. Thank you for watching!

Hope you like this one, this is pretty much how I warmup daily before tackling larger objects. I spend around 1 hour doing studies either values or just hand painting something in the area "which would be directly connected to my daily work task". Give it a like and subscribe, I'm nearing YT partnership slowly which means I can focus more on production of tutorials for you all! 😻 -Check the video description for additional info and resources such as my gumroad for mini tutorial on hand painting! Purchasing anything on there directly supports me and helps me to create more free content for you all! :)

love your tutorials, im happy i stumbled upon your channel! thank you for the videos I tried 3dCoat, as it seems to be the preferred software for this handpainted style from courses I took, but the UI just seems to be hard to navigate for me, and there isnt alot of tutorials so im just sticking with Substance Painter and Blender for now lol!

Amazing work! Do you use your mouse to paint or some other hardware?
  • How do you mask off areas to prevent over painting into them with complex geometry?
