    - "What is the purpose of life"? - "Proof and conjecture and keep the SF's score low" 😂😂

He was a genius, one of my idols. I think it would have been very funny passing time with him.
  • I've been to Budapest where Paul is from and he is not so well known there. When you ask people they don't know the name and there is no any special remainder, as I know, of this great mind beeing born there. You could go to MTA Rényi Alfréd Matematikai Kutatóintézet where you could find, if you ask, some personal belongings of Paul including letters, his hand bag, pictures but not much more. And there you also realize how many brilliant minds have originated from Hungary in the last century that made big progress in science and how strong scientific nation it was many decades ago. I was wondering why nobody makes some kind of museum dedicated to all of them. It seems we somehow globally tend to forget all this great people and they are not so much talked about trough all kind of popular media that choose to promote different kind of values today. It is also true for so many other scientists. But I guess it is hard to value their importance for human progress on this planet since you have to do some brain job to be able to understand their work. I guess that in todays internet fast paced society it is hardly popular something that takes time and lot of patience to master instead of instant info and short term pleasures. That's just my opinion to think about. Thnx Z :)

I admire the man on many levels. I've read the book "The Man Who Loved Only Numbers" which is a biography on him, good read. It's nice to see and hear him speak.

that man was so fucking bright ! he was so open minded about life too. Earth has seen only few such men !

Her name is Fan Chung. She is a mathematician that specialises in graph theory and wife of Ronald Graham.
  • @Loomr
Prove and conjecture and keep the SF-score low!
  • @lorenwyman
This is infinitely better than any theological work ever penned.
  • @astroboomboy
@ZRMDMK Her name is Fan Chung, she is a mathematician and wife of Ronald Graham, also mathematician, and Erdös lived with them for some time, and wrote many articles with Ronald Graham.

Me too, I love brilliant eccentrics like him.
  • @saf1729
Ramanujan and him are the reasons i began loving mathematics as well as Einstein is the reason i began loving Physics.
  • @Kasenkow
You missed letter "S" in the name of the vid

I'd like to comment that Paul Erdos could've make the scoring system for the SF arbitrarily complicated; that is what we would expect from a mathematician, especially for a prolific one like Erdos. But he doesn't; one point, two points, no points. Simple as that. Even mathematicians like simplicity.

It seems that the SF's score's pretty high.
