Drop Stop has sold millions of dollars worth of products. Now you can make your own car seat gap filler out of some rubber pipe insulation. Watch this video for details.

Guys if you are really looking for the cheapest car seat filler simply make tight roll of 2 usps padded envelopes for each filler measuring out the length required then pass it though a pair of black socks and tuck in the remaining of the socks into the opening of the roll towards the end. (I didn't go beyond the seat belt buckle) I just made it for my car and it solved the problem without spending a penny 🤗 Another idea that could work is a thin pool noodle from the dollar tree, during halloween they sell it in black color 👍
  • I LOVE this. I'd never heard of a drop stop before I saw someone spruiking how good they are on YouTube. I went to Amazon and was horrified by the price here in Australia! $A69.00! I immediately went searching for ideas as it really isn't a complex idea and I was sure there would be someone out there who had worked out a much cheaper alternative! Thanks so much! Off to the plumbing supplies store tomorrow - but first I'll check out my husband's workshop for likely alternatives.

Ok went down to Lowes at bought the rubber like you stated $11 and some change. Worked perfectly! I have the bought one for Mercedes’ but it did not fit on the bmw so your idea was perfect and looks good especially when my seats our black leather . Thanks!

I just saw this video and from the video thumbnail I immediately thought about using swimming noodle floats. Great idea

I found a towel that was pretty much the color of my interior and I just rolled it up into a log and stuffed it in the crack.. now it serves a dual purpose in the event that I have some kind of a spill or possibly injured in a crash I have something to put on a wound

The only change I would make is adding a backstop so thinks don't just slide into the back seat.
  • This is so much better than the original. I was reading reviews on Amazon, and some were ticked off, because every time the seat moves, the original will fall down between the seat, and only the part around the seatbelt will stay up. Apparently, the material they made it out of grabs, so if you move your seat at all, the whole thing gets caught up and falls underneath, between the seat and console. It is also a really bad dirt magnet. It does the exact thing that it's supposed to be preventing. I look forward to trying your method. I drive a 2 door coupe, and definitely have the seats moving an awful lot, to get things and people in-and-out of the back.

My man! Liked and subbed! I'm the exact same way with just about everything, if I can make it with what we've already got, why waste money on it (within reason of course, My wife sees to that 😋).

What size is the rubber water pipe insulation, 1 inch, 1 1/2", 2inch?
  • @localunion8701
That what i did. Got those foam from the construction site where i work. Free and it works👍
  • Who ever designed car seats to be like this should be fired. Why would someone design a seat so it’s near impossible to get anything you drop down there? I have small hands and it’s still hard for me! God forbid I drop something because I’m driving

Great idea and it's a lot cheaper than the one on shark tank. Love the fans in the back lol. Oh ya first lol
  • I did was way shitier job than you did... I cut a square instead of an oval. But you can't beat $2.17 for 3/4th x 6ft.

I spent 10$ in a drop stop at auto zone. Should've just watched this video first.
