    Maybe the term you were looking for was a thinner frame than a tennis racket. Maybe older rackets have a little more difficulty holding higher tensions but usually newer rackets can hold higher tensions.

    Complete novice here - how do you know where to put a stringing aid in and does it changes from racquet to racquet? Does that affect the overall tension, however small it might be? And do you need to compensate the amount with the tension head?

    Have you ever used any other machines? You sound a little bias to the Wilson machine =) Babolat makes a good machine, the Star 3 is a workhorse, Star 5 is nice to string tennis rackets on, the Yonex machines made by Toyozouki are all made in Japan by a small company of about 12 people, badminton rackets on Yonex Toyozouki machines are easier to do
