I’m so glad Tesla is finally putting out videos showing the work that goes into their products. Honestly, we used to build stuff in America until outsourcing became a thing. Glad to see vertical integration at Tesla and looks like everyone is going back to actually making stuff. Tesla - never stop improving.
  • Can’t wait to see the progress after a year, they did so much from nothing after only 6 months!!!! Insane team! Edit: Love to see so many haters supporting Tesla and watching all their accomplishments! Its new technology and lots of individual workers trying their best to improve the lives of all of us on earth!
  • @BoyanDobrev
Love all these new videos Tesla is producing! ❤
  • I love how they integrated the motor vertically instead of horizontally, it is usual that the axis of the motor is the axis of rotation of the joint, but in this case the motor goes vertical to transform the movement from rotary to linear with a gearbox , similar to a muscle, in the university it is usual that almost everyone does it the other way, it really did not occur to any of us in my class at the university and neither did any professor. Really smart.
  • Well done to the Tesla Team, it is so fantastic and unique to see the real manufacturing and development of Tesla which is worldwide unique and groundbreaking in automotive and robotics.

The most important thing is that, Tesla is the only company with money, resources and talent that is devoted to making humanoid robots with the purpose of becoming a future reality, they are the only ones with an actual plan of making humanoids capable of doing real jobs and playing a part in human life, there is no one else, yes there is Honda, Hyundai/Boston Dynamics but they are not devoted to building humanoids as products, it's more of a side story for them than the real plan.
  • I’m totally qualified for that “Cleaning Metal With Rag” job.

is it just me or are they about 10 years behind Boston Dynamics ? this looks like the DARPA challenge type robot from say 2013ish
  • @Kanibulus
This is how Skynet started lol, all jokes apart - great job Tesla!
  • @wildfood1
Having grown up with these machines populating fiction, the reality finally coming to fruition is mind boggling.

I'm glad you guys figured out you put the motor inside the strain wave drive, opposed to outside, like all the other people that do it that way. You guys are super smart.
  • @MotoMengy
Can't wait to see Optimus a few years from now, just imagine what the progress will be by then!!!
  • @carbun.
You've invented motors. good job team.
  • @thisplayer01
Brilliant, thanks - as it happens, my age is outside the career-seeking range - but half a century or so ago, I would have certainly applied! Best, Carlo
  • Great to see you do something inferior to what Honda did 20 years ago.
